For the past few days, the whole province was really cool and comfortable until today! I woke up early missing Mr. Sun, it was way past 6:00 in the morning, yet still, no sign of it ever showing up. Everything was too dark and gloomy. I never paid much attention though, I thought rain's just around the corner. An hour later, the same scenario. That's when I realized it was haze! It's the burning season in Chiang Mai, although the government has put a temporary ban on it, still, it has not stopped farmers from practicing such.
I have longed to live in Chiang Mai for so many reasons. Unfortunately, knowing it's greatest downside has really put me off. I am not 100% healthy, I cannot afford to expose myself to such harsh environmental conditions. I felt really bad about the whole situation. It's something that you would want to put a stop to but can't because it has been part of their tradition.
Still, will never stop visiting Chiang Mai. It's one cool awesome place and I like the vibe so much. Coffee culture is also really strong! I just need to avoid visiting the vibrant and ever-growing city during their burning season. Get to see it at its best!
I guess falling in love with Thailand is not too difficult, apart from being really a beautiful country, the culture is also something I would want to understand and immerse myself into.
