#ulog 5: Confessions of an Old and Broken-hearted Bachelor

He used to be that Hopeless Romantic Guy like you see in the movies
He courted someone like in the old ways.
His efforts and thoughtfulness are one of a kind.
He’s like the perfect example on how a guy should court a lady.
And she said yes.
He was so happy.
He gave it all.
She asked for more.
He gave everything he had.
He didn’t have time for himself.
He looked back to his family.
She said "take care of me first."
He did everything for her.
She told him it wasn’t enough.
He was confused: his mind is telling him it’s too much burden
But his heart can’t let go.
She became selfish.
He didn’t even notice.
Her family took advantage of him.
He didn’t care as long as he can give her everything.
Her appetite for more things made him wavered.
Yet he can’t act on his thoughts for his heart is controlling him.
She acted immaturely.
He has no chance.
He had to choose but he obviously can’t.
He still sees a glimmer of hope for her to change.
She’s doesn’t want to change.
He mustered his courage.
She’s still in vain.
He wants her to grow up and be mature.
She’s clueless.
There he goes - away from her.
She told him she’s suffering yet she finds a new lover.
He was devastated, thinking what went wrong.
She told him he loves her yet she’s dating every guys.
He was foolish.
He felt used.
He gave it his all but it wasn’t enough.

And then he was broken, afraid, doubting everyone.
He’s now suspicious of every girl’s true intention.

He changed.
His new found realizations temporarily hides all the pain.
He has become skeptical, of everything, and of everyone.
He thinks that it is better to have a relationship with a hooker.
He doesn’t want to get involved with a new lover.
For with a hooker, he knows it’s just a game.
Whether she leaves him or not, he will not be in vain.
His heart will still be intact, unscathed, and anew.
Unlike that last time that he fell in love.
He can barely get up.
And there’s that bachelor, striving for his life.
He’s focusing on his goals, and not on someone’s life.
He’s not hoping on anything.
He’s just going with the flow.
He doesn’t want to be involved with love.
But his not shutting any doors, not yet.
But the doors are closing on its own for him.
“Come what may”, he said
He had become a skeptical believer.

But how did I know all of these?
Oh shit, it was me.
