Hello everyone! Yesterday's activity was a success. I got to join the turn over ceremony for the Anti-Human Trafficking Project of Balaod Mindanaw sponsored by Balay Mindanaw and USAID after series of seminars conducted by Balaod Mindanao.

The ceremony was conducted at Malberry Suites, Lim Ket Kai together with the stakeholders for the said project.

For me, it was a privilege to be part of it together with our school and other schools in our city. To be trusted as one of the schools in the secondary level that would pursue anti-trafficking activities meant a lot to us.

On this photo, together with my colleagues, Bayanga National High School received a highly coveted artifact by Balaod Mindanao as a recognition to the school's commitment in eliminating human trafficking.

I was tasked to deliver the commitment message for the Cagayan de Oro Secondary School. I value the moment when I was able to touch the participants somehow.

Despite the fact that we are living in a new millenium and an advanced and dynamic technology, the existence of human trafficking still exists and the threats it poses to the children is very alarming. The said statement is the reason why I view this as an important event primarily because it is at the schools were students spend most of the time.

School are also a grand venue for information dissemination about how to identify human trafficking, how to avoid it, and how to help it eradicate in the community.

Do not forget the selfies!

I would like to make this a life-long commitment not just because I am a public servant under the umbrella of Department Education, but because I had seen and understood the significance of the youth in country's nation-building.

To my fellow Filipinos:
I hope, you as well, would do something great for your community regardless of how small or big its impact is. And to those who are on the verge of nation-building, continue to be inspired!

Some of the photos were taken from the social media account from Ms. Tañan.

Kudos for you kabayan. Keep it up and serve our country well. This kinds of events must be known as human trafficking is also happening in the Philippines which a lot of our fellow citizens does not know of.
