DPR Says Ukraine Forces Tortured & Killed Prisoner Of War

"Last week in the Armed Forces of the Donetsk People's Republic scheduled training sessions were held. The knowledge and practical skills of servicemen were improved, the process of cohesions of the battalions, divisions and separate companies continues. High readiness is maintained in all divisions of the Armed Forces of the Republic for a possible escalation of the situation.

Over the past day, the enemy once again violated the ceasefire.

In Donetsk direction in the area of the settlement of SPARTAK the enemy launched three 82 mm mines.

In total for the past week the enemy thirty-three times violated the cease-fire regime and launched one hundred thirty-one 120 and 82 mm mines.

The areas of fourteen settlements of the Republic were under the AFU's fire attack.

As a result of shelling by the Ukrainian invaders one housebuilding in Dokuchaevsk was damaged.

One defender of the Republic was wounded over the past week

Since the "spring armistice" came into force on March 5, 2018 the enemy violated the ceasefire six times.

The command of the AFU continues to concentrate heavy weapons near the demarcation line. Our intelligence recorded:

152 mm howitzers MSTA-B - 5 units;
122 mm multiple rocket launcher "Grad" - 4 units;
122 mm self-propelled howitzers "Gvozdika" - 16 units;
122 mm howitzers D-30 - 3 units;
100 mm anti-tank gun "Rapira" - 4 units;
anti-aircraft missile system "Osa" - 6 units;
anti-aircraft missile system "Strela-10" - 1 unit;
tanks T-64 and T-72 - 17 units.

A week ago the Ukrainian command destabilized the situation on the contact line again. 15 fighters from the 36th Marine Brigade under the cover of mortar fire made an attempt to take our positions on the contact line in the vicinity of the settlement October. As a result of the clash, one of our defenders was wounded, another - Toropkin Evgeny Igorevich, was taken prisoner.

Recently, we received an information about the intentions of the command of the enemy to throw several sabotage groups from the nationalist regiment "Azov" in the region of Novoazovsk to carry out provocations on the line of demarcation. The Ukrainian militants needed to capture of enemy soldiers in order to obtain reconnaissance data on the composition and position of troops. This is widely used in the practice of armed conflicts.

We know for sure that Yevgeny Toropkin was captured alive. However, fears for his life seriously increased after the statement of the propagandists of the headquarters of the so-called "ATO". It was said that three of our servicemen tried to attack the Ukrainian positions, after which one of them was killed. This false version was invented and agreed by the Ukrainian occupation command, and the propagandists did not even bother to disclose the date of the fictitious event.
The lies are often said to public. We remember the execution by the militants of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade of an ambulance car presented as BMP and civilian truck presented as a military vehicle for delivering ammunition

We managed to return the body of Eugene Toropkin with the help of people. As a result of the forensic examination it was established that he did not die by his own death. It was a real murder. But before killing Eugene, the Ukrainian militants applied physical force and torture him.

The murder of a man for militants from the 36th Marine Brigade becomes an ordinary occurrence. As an example, the shooting of two Marines by four of their colleagues in the area Shirokino February 14. In this case, militants from the "elite of the armed forces of Ukraine" went further and before killing a man they brutally tortured him.

After the crime was committed the killers loaded Yevgeny's body into a car, drove him to Mariupol and threw him outside the building of the district department of internal affairs. We learned about this from the words of an eyewitness who observed this barbarism.

Once again, I express my condolences to the relatives and friends of the defender of the Donetsk People's Republic Yevgeny Toropkin.

In conclusion, I note that the barbarous crimes of Ukrainian militants should receive a legal assessment. Punishers and murderers will be punished. We will do our best and will connect international and republican human rights organizations."
