How do you even call this fruit in other languages? I don’t even know if it is available in other countries. Maybe @experimentel or @curiouscoco can enlight me a little bit.

For people who do not know this fruit, the common shape is oval with a pointed end. This specimen in particular looks more like a tomatoe by its unique shape.

I was curious of the origins of this fruit so I made a little research. The scientific name of the plant is Solanum muricatum and at least in South America it is known as sweet cucumber, or in spanish pepino dulce. It has been cultivated in South America for hundred years, even since only natives habitated this land.

NUTRITIONAL FACT: Pepinos contain in 100 grams, 35 mg of vitamin C, which is near53% of the daily recommended dose. Furthermore 7% of the fruit os carbohydrate and 92% of water.

NOT FUN FACT: According to FAO, 1300 millions of tons of the food that is loss or wasted during food cycle, would be enough to feed 2000 millions of people.
