UCL semi-final showdown: Liverpool meets Roma as Real Madrid battle Bayern Munich

The semi-final draws for the Uefa Champions League holds in Nyon, Switzerland with the four semi-finalists hoping for a fair pairing.

The semi-finalists Liverpool (England), Bayern Munich (Germany), AS Roma (Italy) and the defending champions Real Madrid (Spain) gear up for the outcome of the draw in Nyon.

Roma put up a stunning performance in Rome to see off one of Champions League’s favourites Barcelona to advance to the semi-final.

In an all-England derby, Liverpool defeated Pep Gaurdiola’s Manchester City in both legs to make it to the last four of the competition.

Bayern Munich held visiting Sevilla to a goalless draw in Munich to go through 2-1(aggregate) after a win in Spain a week earlier.

The defending champions Real Madrid escaped from being ousted from the Champions League by the determined and resilient Italian champions Juventus as Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury time penalty saw them advance to the semi-final of the Champions League.

It will no doubt be a pulsating semi-final as the four teams spread across four major leagues will be a tough nut to crack for the other.

All four teams though still basking in the euphoria of a fierce quarter final victory will have to look beyond that and aim a successful run in both ties of the semi-final fixtures.

It’s all concluded as Liverpool have been drawn to face Italian side AS Roma; Real Madrid face German champions Bayern Munich.

It will be a spectacle as all four teams will vie for a place in the finals to hold in Kyiv, Ukraine.
