RE: Michael Tellinger and Derrick Broze Debate Ubuntu & Contributionism

in #ubuntu7 years ago (edited)

I don't think your guest realizes money is used to exchange work and it is used so that people feel that their contribution is fairly valued compared to others contributions. You can have money to barter with others without using a centrally controlled and issued dollar.
..and nothing is created for free, except imaginary things.
..and the 'elders' will have to force some of the people to 'contribute' more, or ostracize them I guess...
If the idea is to have a more free society, I think he needs to think though his philosophy more completely.

Agreed - Let's just say that I have first hand experience living at Stone Circle Ubuntu Village and with Michael Tellinger and that his community is one of the worst & most badly run operations I've ever seen ever - and not to mention the mismanagement of funds that have been donated to him.

Lets just say that the only people that benefit from his interpretation of Ubuntu Constitutionalism are the 'elders' delegating the tasks, all the so called 'workers' are really not much better off after than before they agree to assist.

Thanks @dbroze for your awesome work and interviews!
