Ola, Uber drivers’ strike has affected commuters in Chennai - rides getting expensive

Today in Chennai cab rides got more expensive when application based taxi drivers are on a strike.
This strike is part of the nation-wide protest by drivers and unions who are against stiff targets, falling incentives and the lack of transparency in cab fares. This has led to many drivers increasing their base fare by 70% across the country.

Rates got doubled this Wednesday during peak hours. Many commuters got stranded and waited for many hours. Chennai Airport suffered great because of this. Also the Old Mahabalipuram Road in Koyambedu and the county's Railway Stations. Other taxi services became the only option during this period.
