Guitar Tutorial #3; Fingering exercises.
What's up guys!!
In this opportunity I bring you some fingering exercises that are a little more complicated than the ones I showed you before. As everyone already knows, or for the most part, fingering is a fundamental piece to learn to play any instrument. It allows us to know the positions of the fingers and hands that should be adopted to play a musical instrument, know how to read the scores. The assignment of the fingers to each string had already been illustrated in the previous tutorials.
Here I leave again the assignment of each finger of both hands:
- Mano Izquierda: Left Hand
- Mano derecha: Right Hand
Before I start I share a stretching exercise since the fingering deserves that we stretch our fingers enough. It is about using the mast/fingerboard. Here I attached a video tutorial:
Exercise #1
E|-------------------5--------------------------------5----6----8--
B|--5----6----8--------8----6-----5----6-----8-------------------
G|--------------------------------------------------------------------
D|--------------------------------------------------------------------
A|--------------------------------------------------------------------
E|--------------------------------------------------------------------
Exercise #2
This exercise is almost equal to # 1, except that here we jump from fret 5 to 7 on the B string.
E|-------------------5--------------------------------5----7----8--
B|--5----7----8--------8-----7----5----7-----8-------------------
G|--------------------------------------------------------------------
D|--------------------------------------------------------------------
A|--------------------------------------------------------------------
E|--------------------------------------------------------------------
Exercise #3
This is also almost the same as the previous ones, except that we jump from fret 5 to 7 and then to 9, making a longer interval.
E|--------------------5----------------------------------5-----7-----9--
B|--5-----7-----9--------9-----7-----5-----7-----9-------------------
G|------------------------------------------------------------------------
D|------------------------------------------------------------------------
A|------------------------------------------------------------------------
E|------------------------------------------------------------------------
Exercise #4
In this exercise we do almost the same as in exercise number 1, only that it will be the opposite. That is to say, we start at fret 8 of the string mi and end at fret 5 of the B string .
E|--8-----6-----5-------5-----6-----8-----6----5--------------------
B|-------------------8---------------------------------8-----6-----5--
G|----------------------------------------------------------------------
D|----------------------------------------------------------------------
A|-----------------------------------------------------------------------
E|-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exercise #5
In this exercise, it is the opposite of exercise #2
E|--8-----7-----5-------5-----7-----8-----7----5--------------------
B|-------------------8---------------------------------8-----7-----5--
G|----------------------------------------------------------------------
D|----------------------------------------------------------------------
A|----------------------------------------------------------------------
E|-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exercise #6
This last exercise is the opposite of exercise #3
E|--9----7----5--------5----7----9----7-----5-----------------------------
B|------------------9--------------------------------9----7----5-------------
G|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
D|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
E|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nice job! You could also integrate right hand fingering (p,i,m,a) in alternating patterns to help with finger style technique. Ex... i m i a m i m....etc. thanks for sharing.
You're right. Thank's for your comment!
