Turtles 🐢
Don't mistake Turtles for Tortoises. Tortoises have more rounded and domed shells where turtles have thinner, more water-dynamic shells. Turtle shells are more streamlined to aid in swimming. One major key difference is that tortoises spend most of their time on land and turtles are adapted for life spent in water.Turtles(scientific name: testudines), are reptiles characterized by a special shell developed mainly from their ribs. Modern turtles are divided into two major groups, the Pleurodira and Cryptodira, which differ in the way the head retracts. Turtles wear their bones on the outside. They're all different shapes and sizes. Turtles love to travel. Leatherbacks really do have 'leather' backs. They're ancient. Turtles don't have teeth. Using her back flippers, the reptile digs a nest in the sand. Digging the nest and laying her eggs usually takes from one to three hours, after which the mother turtle slowly drags herself back to the ocean. The sea turtle lays up to 100(hundred) eggs, which incubate in the warm sand for about 60(sixty) days.Green sea turtles are what they eat. Sand temperature is very important. Hawksbill turtles use their beaks to help extract their favorite prey. One sea turtle species nests during the day.
