Virus that does not harm human (ENG/TR)

Unfortunately, as many of you know, there are tumors that are very difficult to treat and therefore require a different approach. As an alternative to its treatment, it is a modified virus that does not harm human but affects the tumor. Researchers at Duke University use these viruses in the treatment of glioblastoma tumors.

Glyoblastoma tumor is one of the most common brain tumors that are very difficult to treat, and scientists have decided to use a modified version of the polio virus to solve this difficult problem. The virus is directed to the nerve tissue, especially the protein CD155. Glyoblastoma tumor produces more of this protein, but it is impossible to use the pathogenic version and it is inhuman. To do this, the experts created a version of the polyovirus called PVSRIPO. It recognizes CD155 effectively and supports the destruction of malignant cells without damaging the health. In fact, PVSRIPO stimulates the activity of the immune system and encourages struggle against the disease.
