Today's Trivia Tidbit (TTT): Candy Bar Casualty: How WWII Changed the Three Musketeers Bar
Have you ever wondered the inspiration behind to the name of the Three Musketeers bar distrubted by the Mars Company? Of course, you have, lol. Most people erroneously just assume the candy bar is named after the book, or perhaps simply an ode to friendship. But, the real reason behind the name can be found in how the candy bar was originally produced.
It was originally divided into three yummy segments, each with a different flavor of fluffy nougat: strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla. But, when WWII started, sourcing the strawberry and vanilla proved difficult, forcing the Mars company to make the bar all chocolate. Bummer.
