Thinking about the truth in the near feature with AI

in #truth21 days ago

AI is getting really scary. It can generate so much fake news and misinformation that the truth might just get buried under all the noise. Imagine a world where you can’t tell what’s real anymore because everything you see online could be AI-generated lies. That’s what worries me the most.

Whoever controls the AI models basically controls public perception. They can decide what information people see and what they don’t. If they want to change history, spread false stories, or manipulate people into believing whatever suits their interests, they can do it with ease. And the worst part? People won’t even realize they’re being manipulated.

Social media is already a mess with misinformation, but with AI, it’s going to be on another level. Fake videos, fake news articles, fake social media accounts—all designed to push certain narratives. How are we supposed to know what’s true when everything looks and sounds so real? It’s overwhelming to think about.

If this keeps going, we might reach a point where truth doesn’t even matter anymore. People will just believe whatever gets repeated the most, and AI can make sure the lies spread faster and louder than anything else. It feels like the ability to think critically and seek truth is being taken away from us.

I don’t know what the solution is, but something has to be done. Maybe stricter regulations on AI-generated content? More transparency from tech companies? Better tools to detect fake information? I just don’t want to live in a world where we can’t trust anything we see or hear anymore. That’s a scary future, and I really hope we can find a way to stop it before it’s too late.
