Telling the truth

You would have thought that with it being 2016 and coming towards 2017 people would be able to tell the truth, but no! A 'friend' of mine decided to turn the whole entire story round on me. The funny thing is, she has no evidence to support anything she has said yet I have evidence to prove what she is saying is wrong. It's funny how life works like that, it's easier just to tell the truth and admit that you're are wrong rather than looking silly in front of people. My parents can't believe what happened and think it was really immature and childish for this person, especially for a 20+ year old.
I won't bore you with all of the details because we really would be here forever, but the point of all of this is that it still amazes me that people won't admit that they are wrong as it may hurt their ego to be wrong but in the long run their ego will be even more hurt when the truth comes out.
