Hundreds of thousands of non violent humans have lives are ruined, and everyone somehow thinks we have such an awesome justice system. Between corrupt labs, crooked cops, mandatory minimum sentencing, and the "plea bargain" scam that most defendants get sucked into, are "justice" system is Just an oppressive organization. They for every one violent criminal they get off the streets, there are ten innocent people sitting next to them in jail. And 10 more there for non violent drug crimes.
