If only there was some sort of international law that forbade the bombing of civilian infrastructure. Oh wait, there is !
Protocol II of the Geneva Conventions explicitly states: "It is prohibited to attack, destroy, remove or render useless objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population, such as foodstuffs, agricultural areas for the production of foodstuffs, crops, livestock, drinking water installations and supplies..."
Now if the US had bothered to ratify Protocol I and Protocol II, it really would have some mandate to bomb itself into oblivion. But instead their crimes continue unabated without even sanctions as a punishment.
