I have mixed feelings about your post but I agree with most of your opinions. Especially the aspect of America and its relationship with violence. But has any country ever accomplished anything without some form of violence or the other at some point. The Florida shooting is an unfortunate episode but not every American is a trigger happy psychopath with a host of mental problems. If they were, everyone or at least a significant number of individuals in that school would have been armed and ready to shoot back at monsieur Cruz

Banning guns or deploying armed forces won't solve the problem. I don't think high-school students or middle-aged men commit violence like this spontaneously.
Somebody who kills random people or himself or both can do that when he has no hope left from anybody, society, system, family, friends, etc.
Leave aside politicians, corruption and violent history. I feel it is about general people.
There is no "problem" - unless We count the fact that the psychopaths in control on Our planet, who create these psyops and sell them to Us as "reality," are a problem. Which I consider Them to be. What's new about it? Genghis Khan, Sultans of Delhi, Alexander, Colonialists, Many Knights, Many Samurais n I don't know how many warlords have killed zillions of people & shaped the history of the world.
A person who kills one person is a murderer.
A person who take assignments for killing is a hitman, soldier or sepoy.
A person who kills random people is a psychopath.
A person who kills too many people and cause a lot of destruction is a terrorist.
Which army in the world does't kill millions of people?
All the armies are backed by their community morally, financially, emotionally and every possible way.
A person who kills or orders to kill millions of people is a warlord, king or emperor.
The world is not good, neither bad, it's not accurate to call it any of the two.
Psychopaths who kill random people on the street don't come from the Mars. Cancer has its roots within the body(Society). When the DNA inside of the nucleus of a normal, healthy cell gets altered in a bad way, it starts killing cells around it. Though, previously, it was exchanging resources and wastes with all of them.
The negative thought processes are like dysfunctional DNA. Why exactly somebody thinks in a negative fashion, it's too difficult to figure out.
According to me, there's no solution to this unless the whole society evolves into a saint-like society. I don't think it's happening any time soon.
Who said anything was new...? [smile] Indeed, it's the oldest game on Our planet. If You examine what I propose, You will see that the structure, the foundation, allows for no "authority" - without the accounting for Human energy added into a system that accounts for Human energy added (money), the psychopaths have nothing for widespread influence, no longer able to pay strong arms and armies. No longer able to bribe, set up blackmail scenarios, threaten, ruin, or kill (through Their strong arms). They have to do Their dirty work PERSONALLY.
If We abandon the systems (which belong to the psychopaths), and consent to what I suggest We do, a truly free and healthy society will emerge. No "saint-like" behavior required.

I mentality needs to change. Even if one ban guns, it is still going to be used. Isn't cocaine banned? Yet still sold and bought. When mentality is right, things get right. I remember i read, a police officer killed a citizen in Iceland year or two ago, still the country mourned for the death and in shock aa it was first incident at the time. Things get better only when you change the mentality.
No solution provided? What about the family unit? I heard reported by the lamestream news this kid was an orphan. Why was he cast away from his family? Why are people purposely having unprotected sex and dumping their babies off to institutions to raise them? Not having a mother or father around to care about them, it can really screw someone up in the head.
I ponder how anyOne cannot see the fakery in all these "events" used to push a clear agenda: "evaluate" People for "mental heath issues" to get something to protect Oneself with. This will give the psychopaths in control on Our planet the power to have only the Ones They want to be armed arming Themselves. This will leave all opposition to Them defenseless.
That this psyop - and all the others - are being taken as "truth" by anyOne astounds Me.
But what can be done, really? Violence has always been the currency for power. America has maintained such a stranglehold of power for so long--on the rest of the world as well as itself--to release would invite an immediate backlash that may be too great for humanity to survive. Like all past empires, the only likelihood for change may be implosion. These shootings may signal such change.
We have to ban guns. No, we need more guns. We need to put more police in public places — and even in schools to deter shooters. We need to ban gun-free zones. We need to blame all right-wingers. We need to blame all left-wingers. We need to call white violence terrorism. We need to blame psychotropic drugs. We need to ban Muslims. We need to (insert your reactionary opinion here).
Everybody thinks they know what’s wrong, but it seems nobody wants to acknowledge the plainly obvious reasons behind all this violence…
