Was Baron Trump behind the CNN/FNN vs. Trump Tweet??
July 2 started out like most other Sunday mornings in my household. Birds were chirping. The small chill in the air was slowly fading as the sun rose up in the sky. I was getting Covfefe ready as my wife was getting ready for the day. All seemed right in the world. Until I heard the small chirp of a bird. This bird was not one of the ones I had heard outside however.
This one was coming from inside the house. I walked into the living room to the area I had heard the sound. There on the Covfefe table laid my phone. The display was lit with a new tweet from President @realDonaldTrump. A wave of excitement rushed over me. Another President Trump tweet. This would be a good Sunday. I open the tweet:
The President did not disappoint. Through tears of laughter I rush upstairs to share with my wife the wonderful gift the President had given us this fine morning. We laughed and laughed. We spent a good part of the morning watching the media meltdown ensue.
It was not until the afternoon I gave the tweet more thought. I do not believe the President was behind the tweet. I am not saying he didn't tweet it, but I am saying Baron showed his dad a video he had edited. Dad liked the video, and shared it. Of course, I have no proof of this but lets look at the probability...
President Trump is pretty savvy for someone his age with technology. He has mastered social media. He has also run an enormous company all over the world from his HQ in NYC. This would take a certain amount of computer competence to achieve. However, what are the odds POTUS had taken the time to learn how to make videos with special effects. As rudimentary as the video was, it is still more advanced than the POTUS would have likely taken the time to learn.
The staff would be the next likely culprit. In particular the media relation team. It is unlikely however POTUS would have them work on the video. It was rudimentary as I mentioned earlier. A media team in the White House would most likely have done a more professional edit if given the task by the POTUS. Also it was released on Sunday. The team most likely would have had the weekend off. It is possible they could have made during the week, but the release does not make sense for it being a media stunt. If they were attempting to create a news cycle for the weekend the release would have been Friday night or Saturday morning. If it was supposed to distract for the start of the week it would have been released in the evening Sunday or Monday morning.
The most likely scenario I can think of is Baron Trump. He would have had no school since Friday afternoon. This would have given him all Friday night and Saturday to have made it. It seems likely he would have made it on Saturday. This would probably have been shown to his father in the evening of Saturday, maybe after dinner. Trump most likely would have debated posting the video right away. He would have given the public reaction some thought. By the time he would have made up his mind would have been to late to post. He most likely would have waited until Sunday morning.
Baron certainly has motive. The media has been relentless attacking his family. Some even attacking the young man himself. Also the subject of wrestling and his dad. Wrestling is definitely targeted at his demographic and his father was in the clip. It also showed a little humility toward the POTUS. His wrestling years are not his brightest. It is something his son would find hilarious however. The quality of the edit was on par of with what you would see from someone his age. We also know Baron has quite a sense of humor as we saw when arriving at the White House in his The Expert shirt.
Of course this is all speculatative. It may have been none of these things. Based on the release date/time, the rudimentary skill level, and subject matter, it seems most likely to be a message from Baron Trump.
Please let me know what you think in the comments. Do you have any other theories?
Update: I learned my theory was incorrect after the CNN blackmail story. Turns out just a retweeted meme. It was a fun theory though.
