Trump: JFK files were 'released long ahead of schedule

President Trump tweeted Saturday that the sealed files about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy were released “long ahead of schedule.”

“JFK Files are released, long ahead of schedule!” Trump tweeted.

The Trump administration released about 2,800 files surrounding the case late Thursday, a date that had been set by Congress in 1992.

Trump had blocked the release of about 3,000 of the documents late Thursday. But the administration announced Friday that they would be releasing redacted versions of the documents over the next few months.

Trump has promoted the release of the files on Twitter, announcing the decisions to do so in a series of tweets.
