⛩️ Sumiyoshi-Taisha ⛩️ in Osaka
For this third day in Japan 🇯🇵 I had planned a non common place, so I hope I didn't make a mistake hahahaha. It's still early and better not to delay too long in order to get the most out of the place because it looks pretty big according to my research.
So let's go to Namba Station to take a train from the Nankai line to Sumiyoshitaisha Station. The ride is quite short, about ten minutes and costs only ¥210
It's starting really well, almost no one in Sumiyoshitaisha Station. It looks very promising unless I'm completely wrong about the place and it's not worth it hahahaha. I am very quickly reassured at the sight of a large sign, just before leaving the station, where I realize that there also seems to be a large flower park on the other side of the station.
Once out of the station little look left, in fact the shrine is really 2 steps away, then right, the park looks actually very nice.
Come on, no more chatter, maybe it's time to visit all this... So here we go to Sumiyoshi-Taisha and yes, it's very big with more than one entrance.
In the meantime, the tramway line really adds an even more exceptional atmosphere to the place. We really don't feel like we're in Osaka anymore, just 10 minutes from Namba!
So after a brief consultation, we decided that it might be better to eat a bite beforehand. What do you mean, all we think about is food? Not at all hahahahahaha.... Go ahead, I'll take out the smartphone and take a quick look at a place to eat. Lucky for me, I find a small restaurant that looks very nice, in addition it is typically Japanese. I'm sure it will please my wife and sisters.
Don't ask me why or how (maybe that delicious smell or those bursts of laughter), but once I got there, I was sure we would have a memorable moment that would remain as one of the highlights of this trip.
In addition to having an unforgettable host, ah that Japanese spirit of always wanting to bring maximum attention to guests, the other customers have shown themselves to be truly extraordinary warm and friendly. So much so that my wife was caught up in the mini heart game in the pictures, hahahahaha!
Once full, we set off to discover this magnificent place. We start with the main entrance
The least we can say is that the place looks huge given the plan!
From the very first steps our attention is welcomed by the magnificent Taiko Bashi, Drum Bridge and its flamboyant red colour
Once the ascent of the bridge is completed, we can only remain speechless in front of this magical place that is open to us!
In front of us is an entrance that seems to open its doors to a majestic past
On our left is a beautiful Hishaku 柄杓
And on our right a majestic alley leading to another part of the temple
But let's start with this door on the Japan of fullness first and the least we can say is that we are amazed at it.
The place is simply beautiful and you don't know where to look anymore. It is the first time I have seen so many Kami in the same place and this perfect harmony as close as possible to the interweaving of the buildings.
What I love about this place is that every time you walk through a door you find yourself in front of a new painting, as if inexorably each door represents a particular moment frozen in time.
One of these magnificent paintings, that of nature, gave us the exceptional opportunity to see cranes. In case, like us, you may have forgotten, we are still in the middle of Osaka, a stone's throw from Namba and Dotonburi!
The place is simply gigantic and a full day didn't allow us to get to the end of it! If you are visiting Osaka I can only recommend the place that will remain for me as one of the key moments of my trip.
I hope that this well filled post (maybe a little too much hahahahaha) will have given you the desire to visit ⛩️ Sumiyoshi-Taisha ⛩️
