This is the @tribesteemup biweekly question.

What would you do for society if you had all the resources you needed?

Boy this is a big and loaded question! My first thoughts were about what I would want to live like. Then I remembered not everyone wants that. That made me think about missionaries and the US government and how they go about trying to make people do what they want in the guise of helping them. Spreading democracy and Jesus. I think about my own self trying to figure out how I think I can help people here in this village where I live. In truth they know what they need better than I do.

Poverty

That said, I think there are some things we all need and some things I feel certain would solve a lot of problems. I feel pretty sure global poverty is the source of so many massive issues. Far beyond simple things like sufficient food, shelter, and energy, poverty is the root cause of most crime, war, and abuse. If women felt financial security, would they stay with men who abuse them and their children? If young men had the opportunity to follow their dreams and passions and felt the fulfillment and sense of accomplishment, would they steal, abuse, or kill? If people weren't scrambling all day only to end the day hungry, would they be so angry? If communities had all they needed, would anyone ever go to war? Would anyone not in poverty ever join a military to fight a rich man’s war? Would anyone able to pursue their own dreams seek to destroy the dreams of others? Would anyone with resources to travel be able to maintain their prejudices?

So, we will start with providing everyone sufficient money to have shelter, food, provide for their children, and pursue their dreams. Secure and safe people will handle their own governments in the ways they see fit that work with their culture and worldview.

Energy

Everyone needs energy, and clearly fossil fuels are a source of planetary devastation and war all over the world. So, site appropriate renewable energy for everyone. Again, individual communities get to decide what works best for them, but this one is a no brainer in my book.

Sift and sort

Send all hardcore evangelical conservatives to the US and get the people who don't fit that mold out of there and just watch them eat each other. I'm kidding. Sort of. That shit is tempting.

Knowledge

Internet and devices all over the world for anyone who needs them. Then we share knowledge. We can't force anarchy any more than we could force so called democracy or Christianity. However, we can share knowledge. We can share information about natural buildings and what works best in certain climates and situations. We can share information about permaculture and creating sustainable communities. We can share information about anarchy and how determining the circumstances of our own lives can make a space for peace and true community. We can share spiritual practices and traditions that nurture us. We can share about how systems of oppression and toxic attitudes about gender, sexuality, race, and religion do so much damage. We can share about the importance of parenting and healthy ways of raising children. Only when people have all they need will this be possible.

First things first, people need to have food and shelter and be able to provide for their children. Only then will they have enough energy and time to consider other issues.
