Trial by Comics winners for "Colors" and new theme announced!

Good evening, Steemit! Friends, thank you for being patient with the announcements of the winners of last week’s “Colors” challenge in Trial by Comics, and this week’s new theme. I’ve been browsing the #trialbycomics hashtag the entire week, absolutely loving the entires for “Colors”. This was such a weak point for me personally, so seeing such incredible color comic art was truly inspiring. Without further adieu, here are the winners for “Colors".

 

@thilah’s entry “Original art: Rain Under Umbrella(+Speedpaint)” is this week’s first place winner. This post encompasses everything I admire in color illustration and the speed painting of the process was what really put it over the top. As someone that’s still learning to flat and color properly, this was a real treat. Congratulations @thilah! 25.000 SBD’s to you.

Second place went to @goodnode for his entry “Fight!”. Yet another great personal lesson in coloring a character seen in this process documentation. Excellent creativity and execution in a strong manga style of comic illustration. Congratulations @goodnode! 10.000 SBD to you.

Third place this week goes to @yarge07 for her entry, “Trial by Comics: Wonder Woman”. Everything about this summarizes what is so special about Steemit. This young girl completely owned this challenge, showcasing her talent and winning one of the top prizes of Trial by Comics. Congratulations @yarge07. 5.000 SBD to you.

It’s so hard to narrow these entries down to three winners. Each week, I like to showcase a few participants with extraordinary work in a selection of merit awards. All of these artists are cornerstones of the Steemit art community. Do yourselves a favor and follow them.

And here we are at a new week with a new theme. Another foundational skill that defines comic book art. This week’s challenge is sequential art. Conveying your ideas over time. Use of panels, direction and storytelling. Pencils, inks or color are all acceptable mediums for this new challenge. 

Deadline for “Sequential Art” is Sunday, March 25th 5:00UTC 12:00a.m. CTS

• Up to three entries per trial round [weekly]. 

• Original artwork only 

• Winners will be chosen based on quality of work, submitted before deadline and ability to adhere to the weekly trial theme 

• Must resteem the contest post you’re participating in 

• Must include #trialbycomics hashtag [please note the change because this is how we will find your entry]
