Mash-ups in comics were all the craze a hot minute ago. They were the craze quite a few years ago too. Now Marvel tries to cash in on that craze once again within their own library. Here comes Soldier Supreme. A Captain America/Doctor Strange mash-up. Let’s see how fans react to this Gerry Duggan (writer) and Adam Kubert (artist) creation from Infinity Wars: Soldier Supreme #1.
Wolverine is back. Disney bought Fox’s superhero rights and other stuff and now the world in the Marvel Universe became a little more wholesome. Like a big family reunion. Marvel likes Logan again and they’re going to pimp him out like they did back in the 90’s. Expect to see Wolverine in EVERYTHING from here on out. You know, like those pointless Cosmic Ghost Rider variant covers. Return of Wolverine #1 brought to you by writer Charles Soule and artist Steve McNiven.
The Edge Of Spider-Geddon #3 is an interesting one. It features the first appearance of Peter’s uncle (Ben) as a superhero. A Spider-man type hero. Story goes, after Ben gets shot during a mugging, Peter’s blood donation turns uncle Ben into a team-up hero.
Venom #6 explores the new powers of Eddie and the Venom symbiote after their run in with God-Host. That, plus dealing with Grendel.
Spider-Man dons the black costume on the cover of The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1. If ever there was an alternative for the red and blue to wear ALL the time, the black and white would be it. Nothing else compares (yes Sinead, sing it.).
The kiddie’s get their Spidey fill this week too with Marvel Superhero Adventure: Captain Marvel First Day Of School #1. An all-ages comic from Sholly Fisch and Mario del Pennino.

DC’s new ‘Black Label’ imprint starts off this Wednesday with Batman: Damned book one. Pulling out top creators for this, Azzarello and Bermejo. The story will ask the question; who killed the Joker? Was it Batman? If it was him, he cannot remember anything anyways. In comes John Constantine to help solve the mystery. One very big drawback to this story though. It’s bi-monthly. This means the end of the story leaves you hanging (which it most certainly will), you hang for sixty days.

Trending Pop Culture Indie Hot Picks; Indie comics do not always show up on Ebay right way. Please check back on a regular basis, some of the smaller print indie books usually list after new comic book release day or a few days after.
The hottest new G.I. Joe character to make any noise in quite some time was Dawn Moreno back in 2016’s G.I Joe Real American Hero #226 (IDW). She debuted as the new Snake Eyes. This week, writer Larry Hama tells the story of Dawn’s first (un)official mission in G.I. Joe Real American Hero Silent Option #1 (IDW). Also writing is Ryan Ferrier with artists Netho Diaz and Kenneth Loh.
From IDW this week as well, writer J.M. DeMatteis introduces comic fans to a new universe/character(s) in Impossible Incorporated #1. Art from Mike Cavallaro.
Patience Conviction Revenge #1 (AfterShock Comics); Patrick Kindlon and Marco Ferrari.
Olivia Twist #1 (Dark Horse); Darrin Strauss, Adam Dalva and Emma Vieceli.
Burnouts #1 (Image Comics); Dennis Culver and Geoffo.
Junior High School Horrors #1 (Keenspot Entertainment); Rob Potchak and Billy Parker.
