"We Can Be One": Suho Hints at Bringing EXO to India and Imagines a 2024 Exciting India Experience
In a recent conversation, Suho, leader of the renowned K-pop group EXO, shared his thoughts on his second visit to India and what he hoped to communicate to his fans this time.
Suho performed his popular song, Let’s Love, to an electrified audience chanting his name at the 2024 K-Wave Festival’s debut show in Mumbai, followed by another show in Bengaluru. This song holds a special meaning for the thousands of Indian EXO fans, marking not just Suho's return but his first-ever live performance in the country.
Suho's connection with India began years ago during a memorable experience on the travel show Exciting India, where he starred alongside Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, SHINee’s Minho, and INFINITE’s Sunggyu. One humorous moment from the show involved a local man who mistook Suho for a passerby and asked him to take a family photo at the Gateway of India—rather than take a photo with him! The story took a delightful turn when that same man, now a doctor, attended Suho's concert nine years later, creating a moment of genuine connection that fans excitedly celebrated.
Reflecting on his previous visit, Suho was asked about a potential 2024 version of Exciting India. He expressed genuine enthusiasm, eager for a chance to revisit India with fresh ideas. This time, Suho has a clear goal in mind: "If I get to return to India with that program again, I’d love to go to the Taj Mahal! Visiting the Taj Mahal has always been a dream of mine. I’d even like to perform in front of it." His excitement shows just how much he treasures the memories he's made and the opportunities that lie ahead.
Suho was especially thrilled to reunite with Indian fans who have supported him and EXO through the years. He shared a touching message with them, "I believe in the power of music. Even if we speak different languages, we can be united through dance and music."
Suho’s October 18, 2024, performance marked a milestone as the first concert by an SM Entertainment artist in India. When asked if he might invite other SM stars, Suho thoughtfully considered the talent within his label. "Many SM artists are incredibly talented, but none of my EXO members have visited India yet," he shared. "I’d really like to talk to my members about coming to India as a group."
With heartfelt appreciation for his fans, Suho ended his performance by promising to bring EXO back, adding an extra thrill by sneaking in an EXO-medley during his solo set. Both Suho and the fans are bound to cherish this meeting until they reunite in the future, with the hope that next time, EXO will stand together on an Indian stage.
