Tree Tuesday - Spring has arrived in Arrowtown, New Zealand.

I have arrived back in New Zealand after escaping the winter. It is the start of spring here in NZ and the trees are starting to come into leaf. There are many species of European and American deciduous trees that have been introduced to New Zealand as the climate in the south island is very similar to countries in the northern hemisphere such as the UK.

A couple of days ago I was in Arrowtown which is a small historic village about 20km from Queenstown where I live. I walked down to the edge of the Arrow River and the crack willows have just come into leaf exhibiting the most vibrant green...I had to take some photos!

A magnificent crack willow tree, there are many of them that grow in the Otago region of New Zealand.

The edge of the Arrow River, this is a filming location for the Lord of the Rings movies.

I hope you enjoyed my photos :)
