Tree Tuesday - Bare Branches to Magnificent Mandala

Welcome to #treetuesday, brought to us by @old-guy-photos! I can't believe it's been 7 months since I posted something on this day especially since I am such a tree huggin' mama!!! Go figure.

Today, I am sharing one of my kaleidoscopic designs that is hot off the presses. I will take you through my process in reverse order and, by the end, you will see what any of this has to do with trees although, this one may be pretty obvious. Let's go!

Bare Branches - 2.jpg
Look at this magnificent mandala! I really enjoy the webbiness and the subtle colors in the center of the quatrefoil. How in the world did I create this design? The next 3 photos will solve that mystery for you...somewhat...I can't give away all my secrets!

Bare Branches - 1.jpg
Can you see the pieces falling into place? This is certainly one of my more simple designs. I have posted some real brainbusters in the past and you can find a couple of those links here and here.

Bare Branches - Starting Block.jpg
This is what I call my starting block. It is the first thing I create from the original photo which becomes the root of every step after that. Basically, I upload my pic into my magical app and do some flipping and flopping and sometimes even some slicing and dicing to get where I want to be.

Bare Branches - Original.jpg
We have arrived at the original photo I took of one of the few leafless trees I found out on my favorite hiking trail. It never really looks like winter around here because of all of the evergreen trees and shrubs. I love the raw geometry of the limbs going every which way. I knew this shot was a perfect candidate for one of my designs, and, I can honestly and humbly say, I nailed it on this one!

If you scroll back up to the mandala, you can see that I enhanced the colors ever so slightly...warming it up a bit. The entire process for this one took place in my phone and I find that incredibly satisfying!

Let me know what you think or if you have any questions on my process...just drop me a line in the comments below.

Have an excellent Tree Tuesday, y'all!!!

Hey well I take the chance to wish you happy new year, snd I like branches which are so organic turned to be such a perfect pattern

Ohhhhhh, HAPPY NEW YEAR to you too! I have to tell you, I think of you several times a week when I am hiking. There is a particular spot where I always expect to see you there among the oak trees in one of your beautiful dresses. I will keep hoping!

Thanks, as always, for your kinds words and support!

I have stumbled recently upon two of the most magnificent oaks, and woth dryads again. Remember when you knew the word dryad, it comes from Greek Oak.
Thanks for thinking of mevwhen in Nature, such an honour. 🎵🎶

Yes, thanks for teaching me something new!

How is it possible to miss the presence of a person that I have never met? That is how I feel about you, my dear. I hope all is well!

Awww hope we can cross paths along with a hot cup of cocoa and a mossy trail one day. Hugs!

I feel like that is a real possibility. Hugs to you too!

Thank you, sir! Tree branches usually produce intricate and interesting patterns.
