Tree Tuesday - Iowa Style
Today we visit Iowa to look at some deciduous trees. These are from a few different locations in the eastern part of the state.
These trees are on the eastern border of Iowa on the bluff above the Mississippi River.
And this lone Locust tree is in Jefferson County in south east Iowa. It has a beautiful pale wood that I consider to be overlooked as far as being able to use for making furniture. It is of a good hardness however the trees are full of long thorns which may make it less attractive for harvesting though it is used some for making shipping pallets.
I am adding one more that goes with the first location, howver showing the Mississippi in the background.
A shout out to @old-guy-photos for organizing monochromemonday, thanks a bunch!
As usual it will be fun to see all the entries.
I will again invite everyone to take a look at what is still my photo blog here.
Enjoy,
John Congdon

Beautiful trees!
Thank you for your kind comment, Melinda.
Good post thanks for sharing
I love the curlys on the second pic!
Me too, the seed pods. I suspect that it's a nitrogen fixing tree.
