SEXUAL CHILD ABUSE IN PAKISTAN
Child sexual abuse, also called child molestation, is a form of child abuse in which an adult or older adolescent uses a child for sexual stimulation. Forms of child sexual abuse include engaging in sexual activities with a child (whether by asking or pressuring, or by other means), indecent exposure (of the genitals, female nipples, etc.), child grooming, or using a child to produce child pornography.
Child sexual abuse can occur in a variety of settings, including home, school, or work (in places where child labor is common). Child marriage is one of the main forms of child sexual abuse
physical abuse as a child can lead to physical and mental difficulties in the future, including re-victimization, personality disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, dissociative disorders, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, substance abuse, and aggression.
Now a days cases of child sex abuse reported in Pakistan every day.
Recently we heard a case from Kasur the city of Pakistan—which became the centre of a massive child abuse case in 2014 and 2015—the rape and murders of 12 minor girls, all aged between five to eight years, have been reported in the past twelve months.
1-one of them is Zainab.
Zainab Ansari (زینب انصاری) was a 6-year-old Pakistani girl who was on her way to Quran recital when she was abducted and later found raped and murdered. The incident happened, when Zainab's parents had gone to Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah and Zainab was living with her uncle. On 4 January 2018, while going to a Quran tuition class which was very close to her house, she went missing. Her uncle, Muhammad Adnan, lodged a complaint with the Kasur District Police Office. CCTV video footage which was discovered by Ansari's family members, with no help from the authorities involved, shows her accompanied by an unknown bearded man in white clothes and a jacket, holding her by the hand and walking on Peerowala Road in Kasur. Her body was later found in a garbage heap in Shahbaz Khan Road on 9 January 2018. After an autopsy, it was confirmed that she had been raped and strangled to death. The autopsy suggested that she endured captivity and torture before her murder.sexual assault (rape) and possibly sodomy; visible marks of torture on the face; congestion in the muscles; the tongue badly bruised and injured as it was pressed between the teeth; mud, fecal matter and blood found on the body.
Now Reports about Pakistan have revealed that in the span of just six months there are 10 cases of rape followed by the murder of children in between the age of 5 to 10. The victims comprised three boys and seven girls. Their dead bodies have been found from the garbage plots and under construction buildings. Reports from nongovernmental organizations have further unveiled that 11 children below the age of 18 face sexual abuse on daily basis. There is a total of 10% increase in child abuse with the highest ratio in 2016. It raises the eyebrows of everyone that the child sexual abuse has increased by 36percent in the last year. 16 percent of the perpetrators are family members involved in child abuse other than sexual abuse. In addition, child pornography has been a common practice among the criminals who shot picture and videos of children and export them. There are laws but there is no proper implementation of those laws. So they become useless for the collective benefit of the society. If it is written in the policy paper that “Serious action should be taken against the criminal’’, then it ought to be taken to provide a lesson to those who ever dare to repeat this senseless and irrational action. A recent survey shows that most of the people agree to hang the culprit of child sexual abuse in front of the public there is a lack of education both in the offenders and the victims.Society essentially needs a proper awareness. Knowledge may not always prevent the child abuse but children can get to know about their security to a measurable extent.A message of peace and prosperity should be spread among our youth and adults. Governmental and Nongovernmental organization need to conduct sessions and workshops on child abuse in every month. Society should be made aware of the importance of children. Children at home need guidelines. They should be guided not to go with anyone. They should be guided not to take any kind of edible things that someone offers. They should not be allowed to play far away from the home where parents cannot get access. Parents should look after their children from home to school and back to home. Pakistan should find solutions to this grave problem in collaboration with world nations.
