WHY ARE PEOPLE OPTING TO LIVE IN A VAN
Have you two become idiots? or high on some weed? These are some of the questions some couples get when they break the news to their families that they have quit the 6 figure job and opted instead to travel the world in an old pimped up van. The two questions may not be referred to a couple, an individual can be affected too.
Earning a 6 figure income doesn’t grantee happiness and having the freedom to do whatever you want. With the van life, this can be made possible. With a well-calculated strategy and acuity to stay determined, van life can afford you the luxury to travel the world or visit home country cities you have not been to at a cheaper price, and meet new characters of humans that will forever change the way you saw life in a humanistic lens.
So what is van life? First things first, in my opinion, it’s as a risky venture or decision. It takes guts to make up your mind to travel solo or dual in a van. Van life I would define it as purchasing a second-hand van or one that was dumped in the field to rot forever, thus spending like around $4000 to revamp it and pimp it up to match the contemporary well-furnished house you sold off a month ago.
The type of vans that have been preferred includes the Mercedes Sprinter, VW Bus, School Buses and already made customized vans that come with a heavy price tag. The biggest percentage of nomads prefers going the cheaper method by starting from scratch to rebuild the van.
Then why would anyone let go of city life and begin wandering from one country to another like a primitive tribe looking for game to feed the whole community.
Depending on the taste and preference many have grown tired of the busy life in cities and towns, the noise and air pollution.
For those who don’t own permanent homes look at van life as escaping away from paying monthly rent. Some nomads have concluded that they have managed to save loads of money while out venturing to new places.
Van life comes along with adventuring. You will get to see beautiful scenes you have only been reading or watching on TV. Meet fellow van life families. See beautiful mountain areas and flora name it all. You will have a story to tell.
Like mentioned earlier, the reasons vary. I would jump on any opportunity to try out van life. This would be my only getaway to see new places, meet new people, swim in the rivers and oceans, hike historical mountains, eat exotic foods, write new eBooks every month for that city or country and upload it on Amazon to make some residual income, I see it as an opportunity to push myself out of the comfort zone and see what life has to offer me at the other end of the line. I bet my mind would be stretched to come up with survival skills on how to get by.
Van life doesn’t mean abandoning your family and going out to achieve your dreams. This kind of life has room for more extra people that is if you have kids and a loving spouse who is willing to discover the world with you. Why not buy a van with enough room that can accommodate them.
Let’s talk about the money part. Anyone willing to travel this style of course questions would swirl in your mind. How will I put food on the table?
Many options have proven to answer the above. Most of these van people have multiple streams of online businesses. You can run a blog documenting and sharing with the world about your new-found love and what so far is going on, and with your blog you draw closer to affiliate marketing business, running Ads on the site, or creating and selling eBooks on the blog.
Starting a YouTube channel. If some of your videos have excellent shots can bring in big companies to approach you and broker a deal. It could be a sponsorship deal or they might ask to buy some of your great shots to use them for commercial purposes and at the end of the day “ding” money in your bank account.
Some have opted to take their trade on the road. With an internet connection using any wifi router, you can seek out for work from the internet or other platforms that connect you to clients. Talk of upwork and fiverr. Maybe before quitting your nine to five job, your network knew as an exceptional freelance writer, App developer, Website developer. This puts you at a great chance to market yourself while you travel.
Depending on the kind of gigs that work for you. This would be one excellent method of driving off the worry where your next meal or gas money will come from If you own a company that is are already performing well, I guess this would get you sorted. Hiring someone to look after things while you travel keeps you secured while on the road.
And I would want to remind you that above all this, God is your source of provision.
Okay that now out of the way, would you consider going full time or part-time traveling the world in a van.
