Petra is one of the most facsinating places i've been to. However I do believe the entry fee is a bit too high at over 100$ a person. Also they could do a little better keeping those structures free of human waste, if you know what i mean. Excellent post!
They have the high fees to keep the numbers down. It is getting worn out far too quickly already.
To keep the numbers down they can limit ticket sales....just like many other sites are protected worldwide. Worn down is most likely neglect by the authorities, not tourists. The whole commercialization of the place is very unpleasant. Maybe in a few decades theyll realize it
