Travel Reason for parental leave and 'Paris, France'

in #travelfeed5 years ago

When planning a 9-day, 10-day trip to Paris to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the marriage, the people around them wondered why they were going to Paris where nothing else was left but shopping. It was a mixed question of acquaintances who knew that our couple, who loved nature, had no interest in shopping for luxury goods or brands.

We wanted to experience the energy and culture of the Parisians by exploring every corner of the world's most beautiful city, Paris, which is recognized as a romantic and beautiful place rather than a trip to enjoy nature and relax. I wanted to live like a local for a while as to what kind of city the world is enthusiastic and fantasizing about, rather than a European tour that only takes pictures from country to country. At that time, I never imagined I could come back to Paris. There are so many countries I haven't been to, so if I had a chance to travel, I was sure to choose another city, so I wanted to enjoy Paris the first and last time. I usually take Paris for three days with a European package trip, but ten days would be enough to achieve my purpose.

But nine nights and ten days passed by. In the middle of Paris, I traveled by train to Versailles, rented a car and went to Mont Saint-Michel (Monastery), Etretat (Elephant Cliff), and Honfleur (Port City). The time of nine nights and ten days seemed to be lacking. It was too sad that the Luxembourg Park, which had been passing by for a while, the Seine Robbers who went to the tourist attractions, the Eiffel Tower, which had not been seen a few times, and the Orsay Museum, which was one of the many galleries and museums in Paris.

Stylized suits men walking around with their strollers, half naked in the park, tanning or high heels in mini skirts, elderly couples tenderly brunching in casual restaurants, leisurely leisure in the park The strong impression of the beautiful Paris sky and the alleys, along with the Parisians who kindly responded to each family to ask for directions and lent their cell phones, was not forgotten.

We live in Paris, where we brought our children to Paris, where we were convinced that we would never come back again because of the shortcomings we felt on that trip. This is the first reason why we chose Paris.

Not only was it the main promenade for Luxembourg, but the Tuileries Garden, Montsuri Park, and La Villette became the family's favorite picnic spot after Luxembourg.

If it's sunny, our couple head for the Seine River with chocolate cookies and a thermos of coffee. It is our romantic luxury to sit on a bench and watch the scenery of the beautiful Seine River. You can enjoy the same view and natural light as the deluxe hotel lounge.

And we're walking around every day, seeing the Eiffel Tower change every morning, afternoon and evening.

At the turn of the year, the new year was celebrated with people's lively shouts and firecrackers in front of the sparkling Eiffel Tower.

Reason for parental leave and 'Paris, France'

The Eiffel Tower is so fascinating at any time.

The second reason we chose Paris is 'diversity'.

Children's schools alone have students of various races and nationalities. Like many big cities in the world, Paris is home to many immigrants, tourists and business travelers. You can find dishes from any country if you decide.

Through my life in Paris, I have a different look, a strange language, and a culture that is unfamiliar.

Everyone realizes the fact that he is a dignified being with his own uniqueness and sometimes misses it by interacting with people from various cultures from different countries.

The Arabs will do this, the Africans will do this, the Americans will do this, and the French will do this. Done.

A friend from immigrants from Tunisia introduced me to a French-born friend of Romanian descent. He seemed natural because his appearance didn't look like a Frenchman. Born in Paris, but before her parents introduced her to Romanian and Italian, I was embarrassed by sorry and told me that it doesn't matter where she was born. It is important to know who the person is, but not from which country it is not important to the secondary information that comes naturally.

In fact, I made a fatal mistake asking me that my friend from Tunisia was from Tunisia, but because he looked like an Indian, and because he was unfamiliar with the country "Tunisia," he told me that he came from Pakistan without knowing it. That was the first time I came to Paris and met so many people at once, and it was my only excuse that I had to adapt to unfamiliar cultures, languages and places and take care of my children. Only then did they know that Tunisia was a Arabic-speaking country on the North African continent. Fortunately, the generosity of these friends did not have any negative effect on our relationship, but whenever I met a foreigner, it was my first priority to know which country I was in, so it was an opportunity to look back at me who was urgent to ask or confirm my nationality.

France is legally prohibited from racism. I don't know if there's a social consensus that it's a frivolous idea that treating people with their outward appearances and prejudices as their home country, but at least they seemed to be ashamed of the apparent discrimination. Rather, they tended to respect their culture. Those who learned at the gym where the bridegroom exercised said that Bijou's awkward bridegroom bowed his head slightly and greeted him first. So when I went to the gym, it took more than 10 minutes to greet everybody every day, and I threw a rage out of the groom's struggle that I was tired even before exercising.

I traveled to Paris or heard about racism experienced by Koreans living in Paris, but because of my dull personality, I have yet to experience racism. Rather, he experienced more kindness and consideration.

However, he treated people with dignity with smiles everywhere and politely if something felt unfair. At that time, most of the people I met here were reasonable. Sometimes there were some strange people, but it's in any city.

In this way, we are confronted with the study of meeting various people, encountering various cultures, and examining and expanding the world we knew.

The third reason we chose Paris is because of France's unique socialist political and social systems.

As I saw during the Yellow Vest, Gilets Jaunes, the majority of the people support it in solidarity and struggle for the right to live reliably and happily. The Macron regime has a policy for the rich and a pro-large business, so citizens unite in condemning government policy and revolutionize their stubborn government. That is why the welfare for those who are financially difficult and difficult is strong. Sometimes strikes are often uncomfortable in schools and subways, but I think it's a struggle for better benefits for workers like us.

This welfare system has really benefited my family. Since the semester began and enrolled in the school, I did not receive the children's food grade in advance, so I got a grade 10.

ance has different meal costs for parents. If your monthly income is more than 5,000 euros, you will be required to pay 7 euros (approximately 9,000 won) for each meal at the highest rate of 10. On the other hand, the lowest Tier 1 is for incomes below 234 euros, with a meal of about 0.13 euros (about 150 won). The required documents were submitted to the relevant departments, so they could be applied to grades 10 to 3. Tier 3 costs 1.62 euros per meal.

A Korean friend I found here asked a French husband at a large diesel company. You can go to a high-income job in return for your individual's ability and effort. Why do we have to pay far more than those who are unemployed or low-income? The husband said, “That's not fair, of course. So you don't go to a good job to get a low grade? I'm much better off working at a good job, earning more money, paying more taxes, and getting a higher grade. ”

Fourth, we chose Paris because it has a social atmosphere with clear individualism.

In a society that does not have a sense of mature community and enjoys to talk or slander others, it is very difficult for me to live freely as a being. When I made important life decisions such as school, major, job, leave, and marriage, I felt as if I had an open audition with my family, relatives, neighbors and friends as judges.

Wouldn't everyone have felt this way once if they were ordinary people who grew up in comparisons in a competitive and lively society?

Sociologist Prof. Kim Chan-ho said in a book called Despair.

Individualism has many attributes, but there is a positive aspect of self-worth. In Korea, individualism did not take root in that sense. Too nervous about others. It is divided into two dimensions, while intervening and invading the territory of others, showing more interest than others need. On the other hand, they are too sensitive to the evaluation and reaction of others to themselves.

The modernization of Korea was urgently pursued with the aim of quickly catching up with the advanced industrial society. As a result, they mobilized collective energy without involving rational personalization. In the process, existing communities quickly disintegrated, but the formation of alternative communities or voluntary associations was minimal. In the end, both the independence of the individual and the social ties were inconsistent, and only the external economy grew.

(p141-142)

In addition, in 2016, when interviewed with the North DB, Professor Kim Chan-ho clearly distinguished individualism from individualization and said that when individualism stood up, it could also create a community.

'Individualism' is 'I am' but relationships are formed and individualization is cut off. But we misinterpret individualism as finding only our own. Rather, it is individualism that takes responsibility for one's own life. A person who knows how to take charge of his or her life can make the community feel comfortable.

I wanted to get away from the constant meditation around my worries and make my own experience. I think it is the process of going to a true community that I have been hurt or received somewhere without experiencing complete individualism or perfect community.

Aside from this, when we were in Korea, we used the German Mother Center as a model for solidarity among women through joint childcare system to restore the balance of life as a woman and life as a mother, and to prepare social enterprises to do useful work to the local community. There was an enemy. He joined forces with six mothers he met at the Medical Social Welfare Cooperative to collect funds and hire spaces, hire a caregiver, and try to make a space for everyone in the village. It was a progressive person who knew the concept of community, the value of living together, and the value of labor and the environment, but it was not easy to keep the initials because of the money and the relationship. Eventually, he spent a year pouring a lot of money, heart, and energy into a study of life. I learned that building a mature and sustainable community is not so easy. But there is no regret for this challenge. I wish I could cope with it more wisely because I learned the lessons and enlightenment that I could never learn from the book.

There are no people in Paris to evaluate or censor their appearance as in Korea, so we dress as we want and try different styles. The groom grows his hair and beard and wears a red coat.

Rather, I'm more frequent. If you're bothered by somehow, it's possible because there aren't any people who are going to know what's going on or where they're sick, like what's going on at home.

He is following his dream as he wishes without seeing anyone.

The groom worked as a marketing and sales manager in a company, but he is actually dreaming of a composer. I was in charge of overseas sales in a company and worked as an English teacher after having a child, but I have a vague desire to earn money by writing, drawing and drawing. The groom has never learned music, and I have never learned writing and drawing properly at school. In a society where dreams and success are paired together and where dreams are judged by their success, it is not easy to start something openly. Therefore, in South Korea, the people who met here live their dreams casually. The bridegroom plans to take a guitar and spring to the Seine and Montmartre hills for a busking trip. If you were in Korea, I will try to do something here.

And you can free your skinship anywhere. In Korea, even couples who were holding hands in front of an adult were uncomfortable, so my husband and wife loved skincare. On the other hand, in Paris, children kiss and hug as many times as they like, and they are naturally more exposed to their parents' skinship.

French people who are not interested in other people's behaviors or who are not mesmerizing, but keep manners and etiquette well. Hear dozens of times a day, "excuse me" and "thank you" such as "Pardon", "Excuse-moi" and "Merci". Even though the subject is a four-year-old child, he politely apologizes to "Pardon" as he would to adults. Holding the door for the back person seemed to be soaked in the body.

When I go to the store, I say goodbye and say "Bonn journée" (good day).

The fifth reason I came to Paris was the education and health of the children. France is as important as any country to philosophy. As a result, the topic of the philosophical essay test questions that appeared in the secondary exams becomes an issue that is featured in the newspaper the next day. Philosophy is not simply a memorable description, but a problem that can be answered only when children have read and experienced books and have their own logic, arguments and evidence.

In Korean society, where Confucian ideology is fused into culture, it is a vertical atmosphere with a hierarchy that makes it difficult to express individual thoughts freely due to the authoritative structure of school, work, and mourning. However, ugly hair is apt to be bullied and misses many opportunities due to condemnation. Losing my own thoughts and being swept into the mainstream paradigm, the question of 'why' and 'how' disappears. Is it as terrible and sad as a person does not have his own thoughts? We want our children to grow up as children who, since childhood, ask "why" to be humble in any phenomena.

France can teach at a lower cost than Korea. Horse riding, fencing, violin, chess, tennis, whatever you like, there are many areas where you can try what you like and do well. You only have to learn once a week so you can have fun learning without getting tired.

The first child pays 30 euros a year and learns football every Wednesday afternoon at a football club. As your French grows a little further, your child will learn one instrument and fencing.

Fine dust contributed significantly to the decision to send parental leave abroad. Our children with severe atopy and rhinitis are very sensitive to bad air quality. The children live here without masks and their rhinitis has improved a lot. My husband and I are grateful that we can always get fresh air from the compulsion that we had to check the air quality every morning.

The sixth reason for choosing Paris, France, is its geographic location. Belonging to the European Union, you can freely travel to and from other European countries without bothersome checks. Even the Middle East is easier than going from Korea. In September, I went to Israel with my children. I have been traveling to the Red Sea, the Dead Sea and the Mediterranean for two weeks at half the cost from Korea.

This February, he plans to go to Heidelberg, Germany.

For these reasons, we planned to have our own sabbatical year in Paris, France, and it is currently in operation. While living in Seoul at a fast pace and devoted to productive and efficient work, in Paris, it is a good city to walk. Thanks to this, life itself has been simplified.

The company has to live with the small amount of salary and savings from the parental leave period, so it is practicing a frugal minimal life that reduces consumption as much as possible and lives with the minimum amount as the cost of living is tight.

Usually, people work hard to save money, so they don't hesitate to buy a wider house, a better car, or invest to increase their wealth.

But we are spending our hard-earned money on experiences and studies that don't guarantee success or stability. We know that expensive brand apartments and cars and life driven by desire won't make us really happy.

In fact, if you think you have to go back to Korean society and work hard and save money as you did at the end of this journey, what does all this mean, or is it just a waste of money?

But nevertheless, we can't see another way if we go directly to this other way.

It is hoped that this sabbatical year, with rest and relaxation outside of familiarity, will be a time of restoring creativity to the body, soul, mind, and mind, to a deepening understanding of man.
