Lunch at Icebergs in Tacloban City | Loved the Interior!
Hello Foodies!
Its my rest day, but I wanna make this day a bit more productive than just bumming around so I decided to make this post because I've got so many photos piling up in my gallery and its already 2020, and I'll have another new memories coming up, which means I needed more storage space.
Today, I will be featuring a new place in Tacloban City - Icebergs. They just recently opened their branch few months ago and it was my first time here.
Icebergs is known for their halo-halo. But we didn't try it because I was craving for something else. I tried their Baked Penne and Mexican Tacos.
This is their Baked Penne with crumbled Italian garlic sausage, marinara sauce and feta cheese. One serving is at 288.00Php or about 6USD. Its a bit pricey, but considering the taste, I think it was worth it.
Penne is one of the most popular pasta in Italy. Its the plural form of Penna which means pen. According to Wikipedia, an Italian pasta maker named Giovanni Battista Capuro, is the guy behind its discovery in 1865.
This one is their Mexican Tacos, it costs 138.00Php or less than 3USD. Loved it as well!
My friend ordered Icebergs Famous Sisig which is at 248.00Php or 5USD. If you're into Sisig, I think this one is a must try. My friend usually orders this when she's here because its really good.
They also have many variations in their menu so its perfect when you're a group and each has different cravings. Aside from their meals, they also have soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts (lots of desserts).
In terms with the price, I think they're a bit more expensive than the usual food hubs in Tacloban.
The place is so cozy. I really liked the interior, the combination of colors and it wasn't so crowded when went there. The only thing I didn't like which is very important, the wifi connection was terrible. It was really slow. If it was only faster, it would have been a perfect place to hang out.
I might go back next time because I wanna try their desserts. It looks really good in photos, and I hope it even tastes better. Haha. Their Parfaits is really mouthwatering.
Look at that! I mean, who's not gonna drool over those photos. The price is around 258.00Php or 6USD. Yep, they're not affordable. Haha. I'm just curious because I haven't tried parfaits before. I tried googling it and it says its different from ice creams in terms with the ingredients. This frozen dessert originated in France. If Italy has gelato, then France has parfaits. Interesting.
Who's hungry now? Haha.
I hope you enjoyed the photos! Keep sharing your travel stories and foodgasms here in Steemit. 2020 is going to be the year of cryptos, let's claim it! :)
