Exploring the Royal Botanic Gardens of Melbourne

in #travelfeed5 years ago

My sister and me taking some selfies :)

In the end of our stay in Melbourne we visited the Royal Botanic Gardens. The Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne are larger than you think and spread over the city. From 7:30 in the morning it is open every day throughout the year. To be honest, we went there very without an idea to expect and walked through the gardens without a map. The gardens offer a great way to relax. Although there are quite a few people who go for a walk or do sports, but because everything is very large and far you can relax there very well and on a meadow, for example, read a good book. There are all sorts of plants to see, from cactus to roses and palm trees. We particularly liked an area full of cacti. Also one of our highlights: a rainforest through which we passed.

Of course, even the rainforest was not very big, we forgotten the feeling of being in a big city sometimes. In the rainforest, a small wooden bridge led over a small stream. We have rather seen a few animals, but we hardly bothered. there were still swans and cockatoos to see. Very funny was the shied on the lower picture, that you should not take any plants with you. Admitted, have thought about it for a short moment;) of course, just kidding. The cacti looked really nice. And there were just so great opportunities to take beautiful memorial photos: Whether on palm trees or at a small round pavilion over the pink roses grew.

Taking plants is illegal ;)

Another highlight: a red staircase next to the giant green cacti growing on both sides. We have made a small photo shoot for shure ;) and then not to forget beautiful crystal clear fountain with mermaid statues on it. We also visited the queen victoria statue. It was a little raised on a small platform.

We can definitly recommend the royal botanic gardens in Melbourne! We have visited them three times in our two weeks in Melbourne. That was also because its very large and you can barely make it within an afternoon to see everything. After an exhausting day, we often ended up the evening there. The entrance was free. Compared to sydney, we liked the gardens in Melbourne better, it was all a little bit bigger and there were nicer plants with plants and great opportunities to take photos. Definitely worth seeing! If you like my post I would be very happy if you would drop by on my blog and give me an upvote :) My last post about melbourne will be there soon ;)
