RE: Travel adventures - Florence - Day 1

in #travelfeed7 years ago

Looks like you three had a great first day in Florence!

Good shout on best times of day to visit the attractions, seeing places is so much more enjoyable when they are not swarming with people, though in some scenarios it is virtually unavoidable. You picked a great time to go to Palazzo Vecchio, I love the golden hour photo you got out of the window there.

May I ask why you were not too sold on the Airbnb apartment? I have used Airbnb on a number of occasions and have had no issues so I am interested to hear your thoughts on your experience.

I am looking forward to seeing more of your Florence trip!

Thank you for stopping by my dear! Florence is amazing! I will definitely go back :)

With airbnb is just some practical reasons. If you come early you can't check in so you have to look for a place to store your luggage and pay. Not saying that I had to leave there my laptop and a few other things as I didn't want to walk around with them. When you're in the hotel and you can't check in yet you simply leave your luggage there and have no worries for the rest of the day.

The same when you're leaving. In the morning you have to take a taxi to get your luggage stored, pay again, then before you are about to leave, you have to go there, wait in a queue to get it.

Also it's very comfortable to have a concierge in a building. They can help you in case you need some advice, or you need to book a taxi, etc. It took us 30 minutes to get the taxi to pick up our luggage because of the language issues.

I'm not saying that I didn't like the place we were staying in but I just prefer the comfort that is offered by hotels :)

If I compare the prices, we didn't save much because we had to pay a lot for the luggage to be stored and also for taxi to bring us there.
