RE: Yellowstone National Park - The Wildlife
Thank you for the tips. I'm glad there is somebody who tells you how to handle the situation when you come across a buffalo! I will definitely go there once I get to the US!
You just have to be aware of your surroundings any time you are in a place like Yellowstone. We actually had people that would ask what time they let the animals out in the park. What people don't realize is that WE are the visitors and the animals are the hosts.
That is funny! I would not expect that people really think that animals are there just to entertain them :)
I heard so many ridiculous stories of stupidity. Last year a man put his child on a buffalo so he could get a picture. Of course the buffalo dumped the boy and injured him pretty badly.
Seriously? WOW! I would never think that people are so stupid. Looks like FB or IG were more important than his child.
I grew up in a small town and my family used to have a farm. I understood at early stage of my life that wild animals are not pets and that it is us who are visitors in their 'home', not the other way around. BUT I can imagine that people who grew up in huge cities like New York have never seen a real animal (besides the ones in the zoo) and then it might be difficult to act when they are in front of one.
This doesn't justify the behavior of that parent. I'm just saying, I can imagine he really had no idea.
