Western Australia, The Most Pristine Beaches In The World!
Hey #Steemit Community!
The @backpackingchef here!! Today I'm going to tell you all about my home! White sand beaches, world class diving, beautiful native animals and plants and an endless expanse of bushland and red dirt!
Western Australia
Scarborough Beach Sunset - Perth
I know when most of you think of Australia, you're thinking 'Sydney, Melbourne, Surfer's Paradise and Cairns', which are all beautiful places! But most people haven't even heard of Western Australia, with Perth, Geraldton, Broome, Albany and Margaret River!
Gregory's Gorge - Karratha
I can understand why a lot of people aren't visiting Western Australia, if you're visiting Eastern Australia, it's roughly 4000km away!!
But what most people don't realise is that most of the tourism photos taken for Australia come from either Western Australia or Northern Territory.
Pink Lake - Geraldton
One of the best views in WA (Western Australia) is Pink Lake (Hutt Lagoon) - Geraldton, this lake is great to visit all year round and ranges in colour from blood red, to bubblegum pink, and even lavender purple! It's also right next to a beautiful beach perfect for snorkeling and scuba-diving!
Billabong - Karratha
WA is a big place, a REEALLY REEALLY big place! It's about 2600km top to bottom, or 27 hours non stop drive, without any traffic! So I'm not going to cover all the great places you need to go because there's just too many!
If you want to see as much of WA as possible, I suggest renting or buying a cheap van you can sleep in, and driving top to bottom along the coast for several weeks. Just keep to the coastline and you'll hit all the best spots.
And how could ya get bored with views such as the one below the whole drive!
The Great Northern Highway
Next stop is Broome! What a beautiful place! Famous for it's pearls and fishing! Take a trip to Broome and be sure to grab some fish and chips! And if you're feeling adventurous they have camel ride tours and scuba as well! If you've got a fourby (4 wheel drive) go check out some of the trails made especially for you!
Cape Levique - Broome
Now if you're visiting WA, you're gonna need to check out Perth! The capital city of WA, originally a mining settlement, Perth is now a thriving cultural hotspot of Australia, with bars, cafes, and restaurants to rival Melbourne and amazing beaches to visit where you can relax and swim!
Fremantle Beach - Perth
When in Perth make sure you have a look at Fremantle or as we call it (Freo), there's lots of cheap, quality markets there filled with the best food and and souvenirs WA has to offer! Fremantle is our place to showcase all our festivals, culture and beer! Most weekends there is something great going on here. And there's always skilled street performers too!
Surfer's Grave near backbeach - Fremantle
I have many more places to tell you about from Western Australia, but for now, I'll leave it at that.
I hope you enjoyed these images of my home and it makes you want to visit! If you have any questions or have been to Western Australia yourself, please let me know! I love hearing from you all.
Lots of love!

Want to have your post on the map too?
Even though I studied in Australia for 1 year, I only managed to visit the most popular tourist spots on the East Coast. But I will definitely visit Western Australia one day! A friend of mine who studied with me at the time is returning back to WA every two years or so.
Go for it mate! It's completely different to the eastern side. Really good if you enjoy getting out of the rat race of life!
Also home to the best footy team :)
Hahaha, Up the Eagles mate!
I agree and always tell people WA has the best beaches. Done it from top to bottom. And an added bonus it is not too populated.
Too right! I love road tripping up and down WA there's so many places to see.
