... with a little Stop-over in Dubai...

because we had to get to Melbourne first.

Short introduction

My best friend an I decided to go to Australia to travel the country. For me it was a good time to do this. I travelled Canada for more than a year, after I studied for way too long and I just finished University. I had to go... I needed a time out again. No more exams and tests and work and stressing people. I needed time for me and my soul. So what is better than travelling and enjoying life?

From the beginning

We applied for a Working Holiday Visa. For Australia it is pretty easy and we got accepted the day after applying.
So where to start?
We didn't want to plan the hole trip in advance, we needed a little planning for the beginning of our journey and the rest would follow on his own, I was sure about that ;-)
With our Working Holiday Visa we were able to buy a flight ticket with great travelling features. It was a 2-way ticket with the ability to do stop-overs on both ways. So we got a chance to see even more right at the beginning and hopefully we would fing a great stop-over to end our journey with. We would fly with Emirates, therefor a stop-over in Dubai was mandatory ;-)
Like I already said in the #Intro post, we are skydivers and therefor we are happy to have friends all around the world. Skydiving is a pretty amazing community. We are pretty much a big family.
After questioning a lot of our friends, someone introduced us to a Skydiver who lives in Dubai. A few calls later everything was settled. We are going to have a stop-over in Dubai... and not just that... we would stay in a skyscraper right in front of the Palm ;-)
From my time in Canada i had a friend who lives in Melbourne. We had luck, cause at the time we would arrive in Melbourne (07.12.) he had holidays in Canada. We could stay at his Apartment for 2 weeks to get everything settled (Bank account, Car, etc.)
And that was pretty much everything we planned. That means we were ready to leave the organized world behind us ;-)
