Hello everybody! today I will tell you how the final day of my trip to St. Petersburg with my daughter went, where we stayed with my sister last August. To be honest, I did not even think that we would get anywhere at all, because our train left at about two o'clock in the afternoon and initially we did not plan any trips to the city.
However, my sister's husband arrived that day and promised that we would remember this day especially. After putting us all in the car, he drove us south, to where the Plkovskoye highway ends and Moskovsky Prospekt begins. Of course, I knew that there was a huge memorial dedicated to the defenders of Leningrad, but I had never been there.
ONLINE REFERENCE: The monument is located on Victory Square and is dedicated to a very tragic part of the history of Leningrad — the days of its blockade. The place for the monument was not chosen by chance, during the Great Patriotic War there was a powerful resistance area here, and the front line of defense was in the immediate vicinity. The most prominent and, accordingly, the dominant part of the monument is the obelisk. It is made of granite and reaches 48 meters in height. The construction of the monument took 5 years and ended in 1975.
This place turned out to be even bigger than it looks from the outside. The elements of the monument themselves are simply incredible in size. But not everything is visible from the side of the road, so we walked closer and got a good look at everything that is here.
If you look from above, you can see that the memorial is made in the form of an open ring. This is a symbolic image of the breaking of the siege of Leningrad, which lasted 900 long days and claimed many lives of residents and defenders of the city.
We went down the large and long steps below, because part of the composition of the monument is deepened. There are commemorative plaques with the names of all hero cities of the USSR. This place is surprisingly cozy, there is no wind, there are Christmas trees and a green lawn.
My daughter read the information on the plaques with interest, because she knows about past events only from history textbooks and from adult stories. This year, at school, she just has to study the period when the Great Patriotic War swept through the fields of our country.
The Museum of the Siege of Leningrad is located directly under the monument. Admission is free, but due to the not very convenient urban location, there are not very many tourists here. The hall is quite spacious, with high ceilings. Sophisticated technology maintains a moderate temperature and humidity in this place.
In addition to a huge mosaic panel on one of the walls, as well as commemorative banners, there are a number of showcases where authentic documents and things related to those tragic events are located. There are even bread cards and a piece of stale bread under a glass cap - a reminder of the terrible hungry years that befell the inhabitants of the city.
Personally, this place made a very powerful impression on me. I have seen many different museums dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, but this memorial really has the strongest atmosphere. That day we got to another museum, but I'll tell you about it tomorrow.
Привет всем! сегодня я расскажу, как прошёл финальный день нашей с дочкой поездки в Петербург, где мы гостили в прошлом августе у моей сетсры. Честно говоря, я даже не думал, что мы вообще куда-то выберемся, ведь наш поезд отправлялся примерно в два часа дня и изначально мы не планировали какие-то походы в город.
Однако в этот день приехал муж моей сестры и пообещал, что этот день нам особенно запомнится. Усадив нас всех в машину, он повёз нас на юг, туда, где заканчивается Плковское шоссе и начинается Московский проспект. О том, что там есть огромный мемоприал, посвящённый защитникам Ленинграда, я, конечно же, знал, но ни разу там не бывал.
СПРАВКА ИЗ СЕТИ: Монумент находится на площади Победы и посвящен очень трагической части истории Ленинграда — дням его блокады. Место для монумента было выбрано не случайно, во время Великой Отечественной войны здесь располагался мощный участок сопротивления, а в непосредственной близости проходил передний край обороны. Самой заметной и, соответственно, доминирующей частью монумента является обелиск. Он выполнен из гранита и достигает 48 метров в высоту. Строительство памятника велось 5 лет и закончилось в 1975 году.
Вблиза это место оказалось ещё масштабнее, чем выгладит со стороны. Сами элементы памятника просто невероятных размеров. Но не всё здесь видно со стороны дороги, поэтому мы прошли ближе и хорошо рассмотрели всё, что здесь есть.
Если смотреть сверху, можно увидеть, что мемориал выполнен в форме разомкнутого кольца. Это символичное изображение разрыва блокады Ленинграда, которая длилась 900 долгих дней и унесла множество жизней жителей и защитников города.
По большим и долгим ступенькам мы спустились ниже, потому что часть композиции памятника углублена. Здесь расположились памятные доски с названиями всех городов-героев СССР. В этом месте на удивление уютно, нет ветра, растут ёлки и расположен зелёный газон.
Моя дочь с интересном читала информацию на мемориальных досках, ведь она знает о прошедших событиях лишь из учебников истории и из рассказов взрослых. Ей в этом году в школе как раз приходится изучать тот период, когда по полям нашей страны прокатилась Великая Отечественная война.
Прямо под памятником расположен музей Блокады Ленинграда. Вход сюда бесплатный, но из-за не очень удобного городского расположения, туристов здесь бывает не очень много. Зал достаточно просторный, с высокими потолками. Сложная техника поддерживает в этом месте умеренную температуру и влажность.
Помимо огромного мозаичного панно на одной из стен, а также памятных знамён, здесь есть ряд витрин, где находятся подлинные документы и вещи, связанные с теми трагическими событиями. Еть даже хлебные карточки и кусочек чёрствого хлеба под стеклянным колпаком - ка напоминание о страшных голодных годах, выпавших на долю жителей города.
Лично на меня это место произвело очень мощное впечатление. Я видел много разных музеев, посвящённых Великой Отечественной войне, но этот мемориал по настоящему обладает сильнейшей атмосферой. В тот день мы попали ещё в один музей, но о нём я расскажу уже завтра.
