ZAGREB, THE HEART OF CROATIA
If you're looking for a place to visit on your upcoming summer holidays, be sure to at least consider this extraordinary city as your destination. I've been living here since I was born and the city itself still surprises me by its beauty and sights every day, not to mention the friendly people that live here.
)
The centre of Zagreb
Zagreb is located in the northwest of Croatia, along the river Sava, under the slopes of the Medvednica mountain. The city dates back to Roman times and has many historical monuments for you to see. The culture itself is astonishing and the architecture is not worth missing out on, since it gathers renaissance, baroque and avangarde lurking at you on every corner. The sights are breathtaking, especially if you're on Medvednica view point at night, looking down at the street lights as the city lays in front of you.
View from the top of the Medvednica mountain.
To capture the true spirit of Zagreb, just take a walk through the centre of the city and you'll see. There is so much friendly people on every corner and you can actually feel the love being shared. I also suggest you visit local food joints with authentic dishes rather than those fancy restaurants with the best trip advisor ratings. You'll definetly save up money and have a much better experience there.
Nevertheless, I'm sure you'll enjoy your staying here and have great memories :)
