First of all , although Durian is the king of fruits in Malaysia but not everyone will able to accept its taste and smell. You will either love it to the point of addiction or you will hate it to the point of wanting to chop your nose and mouth. Therefore , i would like to recommend the fruits which accept by all of the people.
Anyone try this before?
Just as durian is king of the fruits in Kuala Lumpur, mangosteen is often called the ‘Queen of Fruits’ as its top looks like the crown of a queen.
This fruit is made up of its firm, purple outer rind with a leathery texture and a unique transparent flesh where its seed can clearly be seen in the middle. A mix of sweet and sour to the taste buds; this fruit has been said to be a good source of fibre which can minimize constipation and prevent colon cancer. However, the best mangosteens have flesh which is extremely sweet.
The price for mangosteens is around RM8 per kilogramme on average.Tell u guys a little tips for buying a mangosteen, please try to look for the more number of petals at the bottom of the mangosteen as it correlates with the number of delicious fruit sections inside.
This is langsat , a golden yellow round, with an almost paper-thin shell which originates in Peninsular Malaysia, Langsat is small in size (between two to five centimetres in diameter). Beneath its outer skin is fibrous, translucent flesh that is sweet and sectioned into five distinct parts. The fruit’s texture is a little sticky and sometimes leaves a viscous gel-like layer on the tongue, but the luscious fruit is certainly hard to forget. In addition , its seeds are very bitter, so when u eat it please be sure not to accidently suck on them.
