Shennongjia is the main division of golden monkey. Rhinopithecus is rare and endemic to China, distributed in parts of Sichuan, Shaanxi and Shennongjia in Hubei Province. The 20th century, 60 years ago, Shennongjia basically in a closed state, for the inaccessible 1980: only Shennongjia there are reports of golden monkeys. The main habitat in the 1700-3100 meters above sea level between the coniferous forests and coniferous broad-leaved mixed forest, concentrated in the protection of the eastern part of the West, the virgin forest.
