Travel Pro Monuments and Architecture #1: Santiago Chile! Part One (10 photos)
Hey there my Steemit Friends! In this Travel Pro Series we focus on significant monuments, structures, buildings, and general architecture of a given area. Everywhere in the world is different from the way people look and speak, to the food they eat, to customs, traditions, all the way down the buildings they live in. So this series is to give you an idea of the structures that make up a location and how influential their presence really is.
So here we are in Santiago, the capital of Chile and the first thing comes to mind is that I decided to start this series after I left Chile! I forgot to get an actual photograph of the Sky Costenera building. 64 stories high and it's the biggest building in South America. However I did a whole Travel Pro Places of Interest video on this place so you can see it in that post.
Now I did get a bunch of interesting photos of buildings and structures from Santiago. After coming down from Peru I was really impressed with the architecture. It was much more....ummmm "grand" for lack of a better word. But then again I suppose it should be.
Chile is a solid second world country with an average income per person of about 10,000 a year, where Peru is about 7,000 USD per a year. That's at least according to this website online. However I've been told by my Airbnb host that's it's more like 25,000 a year, and I believe that number may be more accurate after spending weeks there.
As I write this I'm learning that it's hard to trust info anywhere you get it. However now having visited both countries, and experiencing the streets, structures, architecture and more; one thing is for sure Chile has a way better economy than most countries in Latin America. It also has some great history too which is reflected in the monuments and architecture. Now C'mon! Let's have a look around!

Chile definitely has a better standard of living than most other Central and South American countries. Too bad most of it is cold!
Hey there Cici. Thanks for dropping and adding to my posts as usual.
Those building are so grand ! I also heard Chile is the safest country in south america..
Hey there! good to see you stop by. Yes Chile is possibly the safest. However I almost got robbed there, first time ever in Latin America, frankly your comparing one not safe country against another and another. Singapore where you are is like 100% safer. All of Latin America has thuggy side that has left a sour taste in my mouth, but Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay are way less offending. Correct.
i'm liking the look of Santiago @world-travel-pro. It's still on my list of places I'd like to visit but mainly as the gateway to other parts of Chile. 😊
It certainly is a hub city for Chile, and even cheap flights to Lima Peru, Argenitna, Uruguay, and Rio De Jinero, through sky air.
