Independence Day Military Parade in Kiev Ukraine! August 24th 2018 (5 min video)
Hey there my Steemit friends! August 24th, just a few days ago was Independence Day here in Ukraine. Right now the country is currently fighting to maintain it's independence near the Russian border in the Donetsk. The Military has taken a lead role in the events here including fighter jets flying over head, a tank battalion, along with many other troops marching through the streets. It was a real experience being able to come up out of the subway right as the military parade was beginning. I started recording immediately and this is what we saw.

Definitely a military parade! Not a whole lot of people in the street celebrating. I would have been expecting more of a crowd.
The crowed was down the street and around the corner. That video will be posted later, and the crowed was huge. I just popped up out of the subway and this was just happening to pass me by. Sure was exciting then to see the jets go overhead. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by Cici! Have a great day!
always interesting to see how others celebrate parades, especially ones for the military.
So glad you enjoyed!

Wow, amazing footage. Don't they feel Russian? That's what I've heard anyway.
They speak Russian here in Kiev too. All of Eastern Europe used to be part of the soviet block. So yes, what you heard is 100% correct. Thanks for stopping by! -Dan
