When German Musicians Show Orchestra Music in Banyuwangi

The second day of the Patrol Festival Tuesday night (29/5/2018) opened with German orchestra, Steinhause Orchester Besigheim.

Precisely at 20.00 pm, the conductor Roland Klaus Haug enter the show area that ditadati packed by hundreds of spectators. A total of 37 musicians from Steinhause Orchester Besigheim have been preparing to feature orchestral music performances.

"Good night, Banyuwangi .. Good evening all .. So glad we can show our music amid the uniqueness of traditional music Banyuwangi," Roland said in English to the audience.

After that, the harmonization of orchestral music flowing beautifully. Various genres of music that are displayed from classic, pop, jazz can satisfy the audience.

In total there are 8 songs played, two of which are Indonesian songs, namely Keluan Pulau Kelapa and a Papuan song.

Steinhaus-Orchester Besigheim is an orchestra with amateur musicians from the Ludwigsburg area. The musicians are between 20 and 82 years old.

Their repertoire, including concert music, is a music that is easily heard from popular musicians like My Way Frank Sinatra and of course the typical style for the German wind orchestra like Polka.

The audience began to sing along without being accompanied by applause. The orchestra show does have a special rule that the audience should not be applauded in the middle of the music of the concert. However, people are still eager to sing the song.

Many of them claim to be happy with the new music show performed in Banyuwangi. Bambang Harsito, one of the spectators who seemed so enjoy the show.

"For me who has just seen an orchestra here, it's a very good musical show, they are very well educated in music, it's no wonder the game is good, I'm really amused, especially though many of them are old, said Bambang.

Roland said he was happy to perform in Banyuwangi.

"This is part of our road show around a number of cities in Indonesia.Banyuwangi is the destination we visited before a gig in Bali," said Roland.

The opportunity to be able to perform in Banyuwangi has actually been planned for a long time.

"Two years ago we had met Anas Regent while visiting here and wanted to introduce our music to Banyuwangi residents, but this time it could be realized," said Roland.

For Roland, it is a privilege to have a chance to look closely at traditional Banyuwangi music.

"We are impressed, Banyuwangi's patrol music is unusual and very interesting, the singer's voice is unique, it's an impressive harmony," Roland admitted.

Separately, Banyuwangi Regent Abdullah Azwar Anas said his appreciation to this German orchestra is willing to perform in Banyuwangi and collaborate in one stage of patrol music.

"This is interesting, in one stage can present traditional music and music from the West.I am very happy because Banyuwangi can display various kinds of music, and this can be an option.Once previously jazz, then traditional music, now we have the orchestral music, "Anas concluded.
