Travel Tip: Top 5 Summer Festivals

Summer brings us good weather and a lot of fun festivals you can attend with your friends! Coachella kicks things off in April and all the amazing festivals that take place all over the world follow in suit. I've been to Coachella twice now and last year I also went to EDC (Electronic Daisy Carnival) for the first time.
Here are my top 5 summer festival recommendations and why you need to check these out!
1. Glastonbury Festival
When: June 21st- 25th, 2017
Where: Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset, England
Who’s playing: Radiohead, Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, The xx, The National, Barry Gibb, Major Lazer, Lorde, Alt-J, Solange and more.
Why you need to go: Glastonbury Festival is one of the largest green field music and performing arts festival. Glastonbury prides itself in creating a really immersive experience where festival-goers are encouraged to be wild and enjoy themselves for 5 days. Not only is the lineup incredible at Glastonbury but the location itself has so much British history! Rumor has it that King Arthur may have been buried there!

2. Tomorrowland
When: July 21st-30th, 2017
Where: Boom, Belgium
Who’s playing: Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Alesso, Paul van Dyk, Paul Kalkbrenner, Afrojack and more.
Why you need to go: If you’re a fan of EDM music this is the festival to be at! Started in 2004 by a couple of renowned DJs, now this festival attracts millions of EDM fans from all over the world. The psychedelic stages are out of this world!

3. Lollapalooza
When: August 3rd -6th, 2017
Where: Grant Park at Chicago, Illinois
Who's playing: Chance the Rapper, Muse, Arcade Fire, The Killers, The xx, Lorde, Blink-182, Justice, Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, The Head and the Heart, The Shins, Ryan Adams, Tove Lo, Lil Uzi Vert and more.
Why you need to go: Fan of more than one type of music? Then you need to stop by Lollapalooza! Known for hosting alternative rock, heavy metal, hip-hop, punk rock and EDM artists. Not only can you enjoy a variety of artists at Lollapalooza, they are also known for their dance, comedy performances and political platforms.

4. Outside Lands
When: August 11th-13th, 2017
Where: Golden Gate Park at San Francisco, California
Who’s playing: Metallica, The Who, Gorillaz, Lorde, A Tribe Called Quest, Alt-J, Queens of the Stone Age, Fleet Foxes, Empire of the Sun, Tove Lo, Sleigh Bells and more.
Why you need to go: This year marks the 10th Anniversary of Outside Lands. If you’re looking for a festival that has a good balance of awesome music, delicious food and some cool art installations then this festival is probably the best one for you!

5. Burning Man Festival
When: August 27th- September 4th, 2017
Where: Black Rock Desert, Nevada
Why you need to go: More into the art scene than music? Then you need to go to Burning Man! More than 60,000 people show up create community art that focuses on radical self-expression and self-reliance. While you’re there, don’t miss seeing the ceremonial Burning Man effigy that is ignited with pyrotechnics at the end of the weeklong festival.
