This is perhaps the BEST advise I can give. In Australia it becoming ever increasingly popular to take a "gap year" between finishing school and going to university! The gap year will usually consist of working and saving for a few months than the rest of the year abroad, traveling!

It's not till we step out of our little worlds we cant possibly begin to imagine how the rest of the world actually live! Each country is uniquely different with its own character, culture, believes and food! Some of the best friends that I have to this day I have met traveling the world! you make a special connection with people on a remote tropical island where all you have to do is play cards, drink rum and lay in the sun, waking up at 2am to hike a mountain for sunrise, trying to navigate local transportation when you don't speak the language (whether it be the subways of Tokyo, the chicken buses of central America or the jeepneys of the Philippines).

Not only does traveling Expand your mind and teach you countless valuable life lessons but it's amongst the best fun that you can possibly have! There is a freedom that comes with having months ahead of you and nothing but the open road before you! Endless possibilities and adventures await you!

I started traveling in my late teens/early twenties and have never regretted a single second I have spent on the road! I walk away from every trip with new experiences, friends, and memories. A sense of being refreshed and recharged. A new energy that helps navigate whatever life throws my way. A new tolerance for the world and the people in it. A New appreciation and thankfulness for the life that I have! I will never stop traveling and I would encourage you to do the same!

The world is a big Place! Go see it!
