5097 year old Banyan tree
Got the opportunity to see the 5097 year old Banyan tree in Naimisaranya.
Naimisharanya is a holy place in Uttar Pradesh in India. This place is one of the oldest places written about. This is the place where all the scriptures of Hindu religion is written which include 4 Vedas, 18 Mahapurans and 6 shastras.
All the scriptures are written under the trees around. Although there are not many trees left, nicely paved roads have taken their places which goes to the piligrim places.
This Banyan tree must have heard the original stories told by the Rishis. There are very few old Banyan trees left in India and I am lucky that I have seen this one.
