'Seasons Without the Sun'

crta.png

I've finished my lunch at a local pub. The skies are milky and without the sun. Somewhere inside I was childishly hoping for a change as I walk out, but this is the best what one can get today. I'm riding slowly, it is a cold day and faster speeds are chilling to the bone. The positive thought is that all these hills will be green and sunny in the spring, again. :)

The change of season is very interesting to observe. The cycle of natural change starts in spring when everything is being born, it is living in its full potential through the summer, losing energy and vigour in autumn and then slowly dying in the winter to be replaced by the next cycle. This can be applied to everything. The grapes are having their sleep.

I remember when I was tasked to write a paper on autumn in my elementary school. I left the paper empty because I had no idea of a single thing that I could relate to autumn, at that age. Still, to this very day, I wonder why would someone task a nine-year-old to write about autumn. Even a paper about winter is way better. Children can easily relate to winter and snow as opposed to dead leaves and colours creating nostalgic feelings.

Every second-week school would start at 2 pm and last until after 7 pm. They must have been training us for changing shifts in some factory... In winter, we stayed in school all the way into the early falling dark. But, afterwards, we'd go out on the playground and snowball for at least an hour. I still remember myself looking through the window with a smile, expecting that awesome snowball fight. There is an old fortress on top of that hill. If there is a road, I'll take a look.

The air is really clean and fresh. Let's walk for a little while, stretch my legs and take a look if there is someone to talk to. I often meet interesting people and talk to them. Just something that I like to do. :-)

Enjoy your day!

There was a film that really affected me, 'La Strada' by Fellini, where Anthony Quinn and Giulietta Masina travel around on his little motorcycle thing. - Kris Kristofferson

Not bad!

Hi @velimir,
Filled with many series and exciting adventures!
Your travel series always inspire me. Honestly, I’m not a travel writer but I’m interesting in traveling. A few days ago, I have made some tours in my local area. Maybe I will write about it.
Thanks for sharing…

Beauty. Awesome writing here. Your skills are admirable.

They must have been training us for changing shifts in some factory.

Haha. Exactly.
Snow ball fighting is sure cool. We can only but miss those days. I remember making a huge pile of snowballs so that when the fight begins, i am ready to attack and defend. A sneaky tactic i used back then was to hide some snowballs in a spot where you can surprise attack. ☺☺
Dont we miss those days.
As much as you like to talk to people, i do too.
I'm always up for a conversation with a random person. I mean why not, unless I have some important meeting I have to attend and I'm running late, it's not like I can't stop and talk with someone for a couple minutes. Those random people in passing can have such a profound impact on your life. They are the people to give the blunt and most useful advice, since they don't know you. So i guess this is where you get some of your wealth of knowledge @velimir :))) 👍

Different seasons give us the message of hope by saying that nothing is permanent and not our pain and suffering. The part of the world where I live, I personally like Winter the most because for the bigger part of the year, we have here Summer with lot of heat. Though rain in the month of July and August makes it feel little better for sometime but it is followed by suffocation that makes it feel even worse than before.

We were asked many 'illogical' questions during school time and I can relate to it:

I remember when I was tasked to write a paper on autumn in my elementary school. I left the paper empty because I had no idea of a single thing that I could relate to autumn, at that age. Still, to this very day, I wonder why would someone task a nine-year-old to write about autumn. Even a paper about winter is way better. Lovely adventure. I am siting at home right now on a wet cold day so this story and pictures just help me to transport my mind into something more relaxing.
Thanks, i'm loving it !!!!!

I just love this season that you are going through these days.
during this season I love to sit alone, just me and my thoughts,
Greatest feeling ever.
Beautiful photography btw.

As you are a traveling friend, I see that even with your travel companion, your publications are fabulous, I am always aware of what you do, thank you for sharing these experiences that are motivating, that you have a good day

I always liked Autumn better than winter. Winter meant misery to me, every task was cold and harder in the winter. Autumn meant the crops were in and it was hunting season. Later came butchering time and fresh sausage and meat. I think the extremely short days affected me, in fact I think they still do.

I'm really hoping that there is a road to the fortress. Thanks for another great post with glorious photos,
