¡Hola a todos! Estuve de viaje por la Amazonía colombiana y quise aprovechar esta plataforma para compartir todas las cosas que aprendí con ustedes; fue una experiencia única y espero poder transmitirles un poco de lo que sentí estando en el pulmón del mundo.

Hi everybody! I was traveling to the colombian Amazon and I wanted to share all the things I learnt through this platform with you; it was a unique experience and I hope to be able to transmit to you a little bit of what I felt being in the world's lung!

Hay muchas cosas qué hacer si se va a lugar indicado. Usualmente no me gusta viajar en planes todo-incluido pero en este caso parecía un buen acuerdo: el plan fue por 5 días en un hotel ubicado en medio de la selva con tiquetes Bogotá-Leticia incluidos y gasté $1'300.000 COP (incluyendo los souvenir que compré), la comida era rica, las habitaciones cómodas y el servicio al cliente fue bueno la mayoría del tiempo.

There are a lot of things to do if you go to the right place. I usually don't like to do All inclusive deals for traveling but in this case it seemed a good deal: the plan was for 5 days at a hotel located in the middle of the jungle with Bogotá-Leticia tickets included and I spent like $1'300.000 COP (like $440 US and including the souvenir I bought), the food was good, the rooms were confortable and the customer service was good most of the time.

La caminata comenzó a unos metros del hotel, con Tananta, un nativo de la región, como guía. De día, al caminar por el mismo sendero, se ven muchos insectos pero de noche es un entorno mucho más rico en fauna.

The walk started a few meters from the hotel, with Tananta, a native from the region, as our guide. During the day, when you walk through the same path, you can see a lot of insects but during the night more species go out.

Esta hermosa serpiente nos pegó un susto en vano ya que no es venenosa; la forma de su cabeza lo indica (si quieren saber más vean este post de @herpetologyguy) This beautiful snake scared us to dead in vain as it is not poisonous; the shape of its head can tell (If you want to learn more about this check this post of @herpetologyguy)

Un escorpión negro (si te pica duele MUCHO pero no te mata ☺) A black scorpion (if it stings you it hurts A LOT but it doesn't kill you ☺)

¡Día de deportes extremos! | Extreme sports day! 💪

Luego de la larga (y llena de picaduras) caminata fuimos a descansar para amanecer con energía para un día de deporte. Primero fuimos a montar búfalos (sí, búfalos) a una isla aledaña y luego disfrutamos de practicar canopy; subiendo un árbol, cruzando un puente tibetano y volando en la cuerda de tirolesa.

After the long (and full of stings) walk, we went to sleep to be ready the next day for a sports day. First we went to ride buffalos (yes, buffalos) to a nearby island and after that we enjoyed to do canopy; climbing a tree, crossing a Tibetan bridge and flying in a zipline rope.

Visitando a la comunidad indígena Tikuna en Perú | Visiting the Tikuna indigenous community in Perú 🐒

Es curioso cómo en un punto del río Amazonas es posible ver brazos del río que colindan con los tres países: Colombia, Perú y Brasil. Uno de esos brazos nos llevó a Perú, una de las zonas en las que los Tikunas habitan. Al llegar nos recibieron como en casa; con un canto por parte de los niños en lengua Tikuna y un baile típico en el que participamos luego de darles los presentes que llevamos (Dulces, kits de aseo, comida).

It is curious to see how in a part of the Amazon river is possible to see arms of the river that border the three countries: Colombia, Perú and Brasil. One of those arms took us to Perú, one of the areas where Tikunas live. When we arrived they welcomed us like at home; with a song sang by the kids in Tikuna language and a typical dance in which we participated after giving them the presents we brought (candy, clean kit, food).

Nota: si con este post deciden ir (y espero que así sea), POR FAVOR recuerden llevar presentes como kits de aseo personal y comida como pan u otra. Las comunidades indígenas se encuentran lejos de supermercados o tiendas, lo que hace que para ellos sea muy difícil conseguir estas cosas básicas para vivir.

Note: If all of this actually makes you decide to do this trip (which I hope), PLEASE remember to take gifts like clean kits or bread or other kind of food. The indigenous communities are far away from supermarkets or stores so for them is really hard to get those basic things for living.

¡Hora del zoológico! | Zoo time! 🐍🐟🦋

En el hotel hay un bioparque en el que protegen varias especies de animales. Al ingresar, el guía hace una charla informativa sobre el lugar y sobre las cosas que podemos y no hacer. Por mi parte, esperaba poder abrazar un miquito pero lamentablemente no se permite ahora ya que las especies se intoxicaban al tener contacto con los seres humanos (el repelente y bloqueador solar tienen compuestos tóxicos) y morían cada 3 meses. Aún así, fue una visita maravillosa.

At the hotel there is a biopark where you can find protected species. In the beggining, the guide makes a little talk about the zoo and about the things are allowed or not to do. For example, I was expecting to be able to hug a little monkey, however now it is not allowed due to the fact that animals were getting sick with the human contact (insect repellent and sunscreen have toxic compounds) and they died every 3 months. Even so, it was an amazing activity.

Ésta es una falsa coral, llamada así porque su color es muy similar al de la letal coral pero no es venenosa This one is a fake Coral, called like that because its color is very similar to the letal Coral but this one is not poisonous

Esta hermosa serpiente es llamada Mapaná o jergón, es venenosa y es una de las especies que más muertes causa en la región This beautiful snake is called Mapaná or jergón, it is poisonous and is one of the species that causes more deaths in the region

Boa esmeralda, reposando. Es nocturna y ama estar en los árboles, como pueden ver Emerald boa, resting. It's a night snake and loves to be on trees, as you can see

Una mantarraya bebé. Si la pisas te pica, por lo que es recomendable arrastrar los pies si nadas en rios arenosos, si la empujas sólo se mueve. A baby stingray. If you step on it, it stings you,

so is advisable to drag your feet if you swim in sandy rivers, if you touch it, it just moves

Este leopardo está allí porque nació cautivo y si se deja ir a la selva puede morir This leopard is there because he was born captive and if he's released he may die
