Worldtrip! Our last post about Asia (Thailand) for a while. Next up: Australia!!!
As the last trip in Chiang Mai we went to the Elephant sanctiory. We've been looking forward to that for a long time! Cause we've heard of a lot of fun stories about it. A very special day where you will not ride an elephant, but just take care of it all day. Washing, feeding, hugging, bathing, taking pictures, etc. The elephants get a lot of love here, a very good experience! We were amazed of how many bananas, sugar canes and leaves could fit into that elephant, but it also came out with the same amounts we can tell you. Please don't pay any attention to our cloths on the pictures. We still don't know why we had to where those...
We can say full of enthusiasm that Chiang Mai is an amazing place where there is enough to do. We have eaten deliciously and pampered ourselves several times with massages and nail polishes. After 5 days, it was time to go to the islands of Thailand again.
Where we returned very enthusiastically from the islands in January, we can say that these trips to the islands weren't that good. First of all we could not make it for the last boat after our flight, so we had to sleep in a hotel overnight near the airport. While we had already paid for the hotel on Koh Pangan... Not very well planned.
The next day we (of course) had the first boat and arrived on the day of the full moon party on Koh Pangan. We checked in in our "lovely" Yoghurt home hostel. The hostel where you are better of sleeping on a table than in your bed because it's so hard and you can not turn your ass so small. Last year we said we would never sleep here again, but we did it anyway... and all because of the good location (20 meter from the beach/fullmoon party). But then... Carmen did not feel so well in the morning. Oh, hopefully she would feel better in the evening? Nope. Even after a nice afternoon nap and relaxing on the beach, it did not get any better and even worse. We didn't go here all the way for nothing and so we tried. Dressed up and with nice make-up. And then we got to the beach and it was super quiet! This was not the party we remembered from last January. Probably most tourists were still assuming that the party would not go through because of the passing of king...
For 3 hours, Carmen has sustained and we have seen strange things, such as a male Beyonce and a jump rope that was lit on fire. When we were eventually approached by 2 Canadians
'Do you have Marihuana' (that's a weird opening sentence)
'No...'
They still wanted to hang out with us the rest of the night but at one point we said... 'We are off to bed guys'
We've learned from it... If a something was really good the first time, don't expect the same thing the second time.
We also visited Koh Tao for 2 days. The island where we have been looking forward to relaxing and enjoying the sun, sea and beaches. But unfortunately... we have not seen much of this beautiful island. It rained for 2 days straight! Of course the day we left the sun was shining like crazy...
To get back to Bangkok we took the well known route: boat, bus, night train and taxi. In Bangkok we had to spend another night in another hostel and we did the necessary shopping because everything in Australia is 10 times more expensive.
And then it was really time to say goodbye to our beloved Asia and make way for Australia !!!
We will be camping the coming 3 days so the posts about Sydney will start monday. Have a great weekend everyone!

Good weekend.
You too!
What an exciting experience to share, I love the bathing the elephant. Following you two to see more of your awesome posts.
Glad to hear you liked it! It was an amazing experience. Keep following us! Our next post is about Sydney!
Very cool. I live in Thailand now and never heard of this. Sounds like it would be fun, even for the elephant. If i make it up north I might have to try it.
You live in Thailand.. Awesome! Where abouts?
This elephant experience is great fun, you should definitely try it ;-) Chang Mai is a great place to visit anyway!
I live in Hua Hin mostly and Bangkok as well. I fly around Asia for business now so I get to see most of Asia. Yes, I do need to visit Chang Mai soon. I'm so content in Hua Hin with the beach here that I get lazy. Also, I fly so much international that the thought of another plane for personal reasons sounds more like a burden, but Chang Mai and Phuket area is on my list.
Truly beautiful. Majestic.
Thankss!
: )
Fun!
Absolutely!
